Johor BN's preparations for the coming general election are going smoothly. This was acknowledged by both PM and DPM when they were in the State last week.
Najib seems to be satisfied with Johor's BN efforts after briefed on the situation on the ground during his meeting with the State Umno leaders at Tanjong Puteri Resort, Pasir Gudang on Saturday.
Muhyiddin had several days earlier said Johor BN chairman Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman is doing the right thing with his overall strategy and personal visits to the peti-peti undi areas. Such an endorsement from his old Muar High School classmate should mean a lot to Ghani. Muhyiddin made the statement while visiting Kulai is black area.
Kulai Umno division chief Datuk Adam Hamid, who is a close ally of Muhyiddin, should get the message, I guess. From what I heard, Adam does not think too highly of Ghani's strategy. Hopefully, he will change his mind after what Muhyiddin said that day.
As it is should be with everyone else in the party, the main thing now is for BN to win the election. The internal struggle and huge egos should be set aside for now. All the ships must sail in the same direction. Otherwise they will be picked off one by one by the enemies.
For those who wants so much to become the next Johor Menteri Besar, there is no need to be over enthusiastic about it. Work to win the election first. Rest assured that Ghani is retiring. He had repeatedly made his intention known to everyone, including Najib himself. I personally wish that he gets to retire.
The MB's job is definitely not easy if it is to be done properly with integrity and sincerity. It is not a lubok of riches where one and one's cronies could use the power to get what ever they want. It's a job where the rakyat's interests need to be protected from all those hungry wolves who don't care about anything but their own tembolok. I pray that the next Johor MB is not one of those wolves himself.
BTW, Ghani's visits to the peti undi areas is at its final lap. Of all the critical areas, Tanjong Piai is the only one to be completed. Nonetheless, I heard a lot more works were to be done such as follow-ups of those visits and continous monitoring and adjustments on the ground.
Whatever it is, I think Johor BN will be ready once Najib set the date of the general election.
My perdiction of the outcome is that except for DAP which may win a few seats in areas such as the Chinese-majority Kulai, the rest of the Pakatan people in Johor will be wiped out....that is if everyone in Johor BN could from now on concentrate their energy on winning the election instead of trying to kill each other off to further their personal interests.
One last thing, feedbacks from the ground indicate that BN stands a good chance to get back the only parliamentary seat in Johor currently in Pakatan/DAP's hand - Bakri.
Kucing Besar, you selalu tepuk dada tanya selera ke ? All the town seats will go to Pakatan cos the better informed rakyat will know what BN stands for - corruption, non-transparency, cronyism - which will ultimately sink the country.
ReplyDeleteMark my words.
Godfather
So Bakri is going back tu BN huh. interesting.
ReplyDeleteKota Tinggi, Pontian, Bandar Penggaram, Bandar Maharani, Kulai, Kluang, Simpang Renggam, Tangkak, Bakri - these will go to Pakatan. Hurry up and tell your boss to rain $$$ down on these towns and maybe BN will have a chance.
ReplyDeleteGodfather
Bandar Maharani? I hope not. Me and a bunch of my friends who did not vote before, are all planning to come back and vote this coming election. I believe there are many others like us too. Will it be enough? I don't know and neither does anyone else. So Godfather, don't be too sure that Bandar Maharani will go to Pakatan.
DeleteBtw, I feel really insulted when someone says that people who are well informed, will vote for Pakatan. Is that really true? I don't think Pakatan is a viable alternative for me. Does that mean I'm less informed? While BN has its fair share of faults, the trend I'm seeing now tells me that it is moving in the right direction. I have hope.
Ex-HSM
Agree, I am also pissed with wise ass people who like to say "well informed people blah blah" as if people who vote BN are not informed? I am well informed as many others, I vote BN any day.
DeleteYep, the people who vote BN are those who condone corruption, non-transparency, fitnah and violence. Do I read about condemnation of such things in this blog ? Or maybe to you folks, these things never happened ?
DeleteGodfather
LOL
ReplyDeletegodfather,
ReplyDelete1 pengundi = 1 vote.

Godfather,
ReplyDeleteI heard you got so much benefit from current government. Betul ka and some more you still want to hentam BN. What la you?
Betoi. I got RM 500 handout. I also went to my kids' schools to collect their handouts. Afterall, it's my money too.....
DeleteGodfather
Good for you, Big Cat!
ReplyDeleteJohor is a state with large mixed-population and developed economy. It has alot of seats with more than 30% non-Malays voters plus numerous urban towns. It's a classic 50-50 state based on recent developments.
Also with many Singaporeans still in rebellious mood against status-quo in the city-state since their recent elections, the spill-over effect on Johoreans working and living there is highly unpredictable. That's 500k anak Johor there. Many were indifferent, passive and didn't vote in our last GE12. Coming GE13 will be interesting times...
If UMNO/BN is confident on Pakatan wipe-out in Johor, then my early congratulations then.
Hehe...

Dear Kluang girl,
Deleteyes, Umno/BN is indeed confident about wiping out Pas and PKR in Johor. DAP, however will win in certain Chinese-majority areas by playing the racial card such as the upcoming Dong Jong Zong rally...come GE13 will not just be interesting time, it will also be dangerous time.
"Explain to me though how behaving like a bunch of louts will make you win votes. I may not always agree with those in opposition to the government but it's hard not to sympathise when you get thugs riding motorbikes into halls, trying to drown out ceramah, shouting down people and worse of all, physically shoving and beating up people. It makes me think of Middle Eastern politics, not Malaysian.
ReplyDeleteI remember too how at the march to protest the Peaceful Assembly Bill, someone actually organised a bunch of fake protestors with a fake banner claiming to support 'free sex'. They were young, given t-shirts and a banner and told what to do. What are we teaching our kids? To lie and deceive? That's the proper Malay and Islamic way to bring up children?
And all those posters (in colour too! Who paid for them?) of Ambiga and Pak Samad Said saying that a vote for them is a vote for free sex! Seriously?? Pak Samad? The National Laureate? Who led a march against PPSMI?? And Ambiga, who's a middle-aged Mum just like me! I guess only dumb people expect us to believe this."
This is from a well-informed rakyat named Marina Mahathir.
