Spend the Raya day mostly eating and sleeping. Taking it easy. I don't go around visiting relatives because I don't really have any. Just my siblings. Well, we are fine. Anyway, it was so hot outside today.
Everybody in the house are now asleep. I just finished watching Astro's Asian Food Channel. It was the River Cottage Treatment show. It's about a bunch of city people who were used to ready made food being taken to a farm where they were teached how to cook and getting to know where their food come from. Very nice show. it's kinda lesson about reality of life. You like lamb chop, then: you should know where it comes from - from feeding the sheep till its slaughter. It makes one more appreciative of what there is. No wastage and grateful with each and every bite of the food.
It's a lesson we Malaysians should go through. Appreciating this country.
So much was said about how horrid our country is, by our own fellow Malaysians. We are nearing a failed state status, said Anwar Ibrahim. Remember? We are like Zimbabwe, worse than Myanmar, overtaken by Indonesia, the Philippines and other countries which millions of people risking their lives to come and earn a living in this horrid country of ours...illegally.
Maybe it's a good idea to have something like that River Cottage Treatment for Malaysians. So that we appreciate our country better. For instance, a month of living in the slum of Mumbai. Don't send the hardcore ones as such an experience would be wasted on them. Send the ordinary people and then interview them on what they think of what we have in this blessed country of ours.
A sense of reality is a valuable commodity. This is the thing that the people of Pakatan are trying to deprive us Malaysians. They are selling different visions of Malaysia ruled by them to different segments of society. They are telling the Malay muslims about having a more strict Islamic society while for the non-Muslims it's Malaysia turned into Singapore kind of secular dream country.
BN is admittedly not perfect, but it has always been willing to improve itself and get rid of its corruptible elements. It has been doing so for the past half a century and we are not so bad in the eyes of the world because of that.
And our country do not come from some microwave friendly container. It's made up of wonderful ingredients mixed with care by the founding fathers of our country....like in that River Cottage Treatment show. Let's appreciate it.
Today was a good example, almost everyone takes part in celebrating Aidilfitri. Even this ultra Chinaman - Melayu, On Your Aidilfitri, Raya – SALAM
See, we are not so bad, eh.
I have a better idea. Send all those who aquired citizenship during Merdeka and their anak cucu cicit back to where they came from. No need to send them to Mumbai. They have short memories. After a week they will misbehave again.
ReplyDeleteso to make malaysians feel good..you want to compare with the slums of mumbai...sigh...cant you at least try not to sound so stupid? i mean you know how to turn on a computer...so you can't be that bad...
ReplyDeleteyou dont want mumbai? go to london, new york or paris and stay there for good. dont come back. good riddance to bad rubbish.
DeleteYes I want to and can you sponsor? Many Afghans, Iraqi, Iranians goes to Australia by boats but they come to Malaysia first. Why don't you ask them to stay in Malaysia as they can also get special positions. Why they say good riddance to Malaysia and still risk their lives to travel by sampan thousands miles across the sea?
Deleteyou are the one complaining so you go. why should i sponsor you? no one is forcing you to stay here.
DeleteYou have not been to the heart of darkness in Malaysia. Go to interior or just the coastal areas of Sarawak and sabah. In sandakan, just look at the kampong on silts. In Sarawak, some sudents have to be become monyet to cross sungai2 to go to school. What is KLCC? Just in Shenzhen which not even a capital city, there are a dozens and the city just started 30 years ago
ReplyDeleteThat's why we have NEP, so that the less priviledged Malaysians have the chance to catch up with the more affluent ones. That's the beauty of Malaysia where the economic gap between the rich and poor is not so wide. Unlike in China where the rich are really rich while the poor are very poor. You definitely have never tried the communual toilets in interior China.
ReplyDeleteBig cat -umno pays you so much to write this blog please use the money for lessons to improve your English
ReplyDelete.....where they were taught how to cook....not teached
BN is not perfect- your're right after 50 odd years and they still havent got their act together
Time for us to change to another govt you never know it may be better You just have to be brave and try-have courage.
Ooops...oh my crappy english! Hehehe...sorry ah, I'm no english expert. This one simply hantam english blog....as long can understand, ok already leh. you haven't noticed it already ka?
DeleteTime for us to change..are u sure..change to another government led by a porno actor aka Kote Bengkok aka sodomite...u stoopid or what?
DeleteHere the rich are also very rich. Don;t forget to go to Sarawak and Sabah. They are part of Malaysia - not just Malaya. They have to do their big job over sungai2. At least in China they have communal toilets and the Geramn gas produced is provide cooking fuel and light to the villages. Here the poor has to burn candles. Also look at Kelantan. What NEP? Why DUMNO Government don't give them the oil royalty. What about those poor Indians living in the estates? Kelantan people have to stay in Johor and work overseas in Sinkapore everyday.
ReplyDeleteTry not to be so dumb dumb. Which country does not have poor people? Go google homeless in the great USA. Over there they accept it as normal, but in Malaysia our government never stop from helping the poor. Without the NEP the bumiputera would not stand a chance because the economy has been dominated by only one race. Maybe that's what people like you want. Let the Melayu and the bumiputera remain poor so that you all can be the lords. You want that, wait until Pakatan takes over the country.
ReplyDeleteOur gomen never stop helping the poor ?? Hahaha....the operative phrase is "one for you, a hundred for me". That's how they manage to buy condos in Singapore, mansions in Perth, Ottawa, London.
