Rumor has it that DAP will be contesting Tenggaroh in the next GE. Now that would be interesting in so many ways.
Consider for a moment the ethnic composition (according to SPR Register September 2012)
Malay - 81.8%, Chinese - 13.8%, Indian - 1.8%, Others - 2.7%
Tenggaroh is what most people would think a BN stronghold with almost 60% of Malay voters being Felda settlers from the large Felda Nitar and Felda Tenggaroh settlements. In the 2008 BN was represented by MIC in Tenggaroh and YB Murukaswari won 74% of the popular votes with a fairly comfortable majority of more than 8,000 against Shahar Abdullah of PAS.
What makes DAP confident of contesting here, then?
First, I was told that DAP will be fielding a Malay candidate.
Second, there are those who question why the overwhelmingly Malay-majority constituency is represented by MIC when there are plenty of other state seats with much higher Indian voters than Tenggaroh.
Third, DAP is banking on PAS support to ensure a substantial Malay vote, to ensure that they will have a Malay ADUN should Salahuddin fails to secure Nusajaya for PAS.
If this is so, this will be a test of Umno's mettle, whether it can prove that it will support and campaign for a non-Malay candidate in a Malay-majority constituency. It is also a test whether the BN formula is still accepted by rural Johor Malays.
Its not accepted and must be replaced. Perkasa is the solution and MIC must be dropped. if not sayonara BN.
ReplyDeleteBtw, the old BigCat was just much better than this one. You ban all those who disagree with you. No wonder ratings drop
What makes you think that I would take the trouble to ban anyone? You don't like me, tough, don't come in here then.
DeleteAnd what makes you think I give a xxxx about ratings?
Way off tangent mate. You just ambled in here & called the resident big kitty a bad kitty?
DeleteYou need to work harder to earn the Komtar emolument. Try reading the comments section in kitty's previous posts too. See if the cussing, cursing wankers' hotchpotch comments are put through. Maybe, your superiors should assign you to Annie's blog. Even then, you may be out of your depth there.
Ah well, paying peanuts will attract monkeys..... And you! Kan? Kan? Kan?
Who might be the Malay DAP candidate? Sangmongkol? Aspan? or is it Khairil alias Christopher? PAS has no supporter there, in Tenggaroh. I have been to Felda Tenggaroh. I see people there support BN, no matter who represent them. I say keep the MIC candidate.

RD, none of those glam folks would consider a state seat in rural Johor where a YB is expected to be around to serve his constituents first hand.
DeleteCorrect me if I am wrong, but apparently he is a local and will be banking not only on the PAS vote, but also from the likes of Anon 11:23 to give DAP their first Malay-majority seat in Johor.
In Tenggaroh, PAS has lost Malay support for it's alliance with DAP. With that Allah, Tabung Memali, Ngeh & Nga land scam in Kelantan & Lahat Datu factors, I am sure BN will win with a bigger majority.

ReplyDelete81.8% Malay , 1.8% Indian ,Tengaroh is represents by MIC ,what UMNO trying to prove hear ?,and yet UMNO had been labelled raciest party and it's members are mother of all raciest species on earth.
Orang berbudi kita berbahasa ,orang memberi kita merasa tetapi kalau sampai menyusukan kera dihutan anak sendiri dibiarkan krlaparan apa ertinya.
Bigcat baru ni tak syiok lah..asyik nak halau orang. No wonder Ai jadi kolumnis kat blog Annie..malulalh wooit
