Oh my! The current darling of the neo-liberal has spoken!
In 10 to 15 years they (he and his exalted like-minded companions of the super-intelligent IDEAS) are going to do away with Articles 153 and 3 of the Malaysian Constitution.

So people, be prepared for the day, 10 to 15 years from now, when we shall no longer have Islam as the official religion of the Federation, while the Malays and Bumiputras of Sabah and Sarawak no longer can claim the pride of being sons of the land as defined in the Constitution.
The land of their ancestors will be theirs no more.
And there will no longer be justification of federal funding for Islamic pursuits such as for JAKIM, IKIM, Tilawah Al Quran, etc., nor should Malaysia be a member of the OIC, as that would be unfair to the other religions.
It will happen for sure, as these IDEAS chaps are supremely intelligent beings, immensely meticulous researchers with infallible analytical predictive models that can predict the future socio-political landscape of any given society.
Well, of course what they predict always comes true ... not only are they supremely intelligent, they are all educated in London, and all lead classy lives.
Remember when IDEAS went around the country telling government servants that they must be prepared to accommodate a smooth transition of power once the Pakatan takes over control of the Federal government after GE13?
That really, really happened. Pakatan took over Putrajaya and the transition was smooth because of IDEAS efforts to ensure smooth government transition, so smooth that you don't even see much difference other than some loonies and their 505 black something or other.
What do you mean BN is still in power? Stop hallucinating ... supremely intelligent beings don't make such mistakes when declaring future events ...
You think if they are not supremely intelligent and infallible, the Atlas Economic Research Foundation in Washington, D.C. would want to be their partner ke?
Or that IDEAS would receive grants from the International Policy Network and the Friedrich Naumann Foundation ke?

Only the super classy newspapers and media outlets understand them enough to quote them regularly in justifying their opinions of current issues.
Just like at one time there were media people who were in love with IKD and Khalid Jaafar.

As for me, I am more of a down to earth practical kind of person and I prefer to spend time scrutinising materials with enough depth and substance for my less than superior intellect to digest.
Although PR supporters of DSAI are still pushing him at the next PM of Malaysia, the painful truth is that he is just too old. If he wins in 2018 he would be the oldest elected PM in our history (beating AAB by 7 years - and he was the "sleeping" pm). Whatever IDEAS think tanks provide, PR will fail again unless by some miracle they get a new leader that can somehow keep PKR,DAP,PAS, etc together (how unlikely!), let alone try to bind in some more East Malaysian parties to come up with a winning formula. PAS has already seen this and they and DAP will rip PKR to shreds in GE14, ending PR for sure.

ReplyDeletedid you hear the case of the husband and wife who tried to kill themselves but ended up killing their 5 yr old daughter? They were in financial difficulties and nobody could help. At the same time, our Gomen gifted RM 500 million to Goldman Sachs to underwrite 1MDB bonds.
All this talk about billions and giving money here and there sounds shallow when little children die because the parents are so hard pressed.
And by the way, all the money allocated to the Bumis filters to cronies. Remember the RM 50 billion worth of shares that were sold? The money the cronies dump either in Singapore, Switzerland, Cayman or HK. Thats why there are so many Ferraris, Maseratis and Porsches in Singapore.
I work in Singapore so I couldn't be bothered what nonsense the Govt pulls in the name of Agama, Bangsa and Tanah air. The only people who will end up suffering are the poor Malaysians regardless of race. The rich can have their petty race wars.

For those who don't already know Malaysia's official stand with regards to the Pakatan and Ambiga's determined promulgation of "the transcendental unity of religions a.k.a. ideological religious pluralism" which equates the precepts of a monkey-god religion with the universal ethics and supreme intelligence of the Holy God on High:
ReplyDeleteThe Institute of Islamic Understanding Malaysia (IKIM) wishes to clarify that:
Firstly, Islam rejects religious pluralism which claims that all religions are equally true and equally good.
Secondly, only one religion possesses the perfect and complete revelation, that is, Islam (see the Qur’an, Al-Maidah, 5:3).
Thirdly, Islam nevertheless recognises that truths, goodness and ethical beauty do exist in the other religions. While Islam forbids the practice of making religion a mockery and a plaything, it continuously welcomes fair, just and honest attitude as well as integrity, from wherever they may have originated. Such ethical goodness and beauty should be synergised to thrust Malaysian society towards prosperity and harmony.
Fourthly, national unity should be nurtured by encouraging the uniqueness of each religious tradition while simultaneously encouraging the attitude of mutual goodwill, mutual empathy and mutual love as fellow neighbours and fellow human beings who all originate from one living entity despite their religious differences.
Fifthly, issues amongst different religious adherents have to be resolved with the utmost justice, fairness and with the spirit of mutual respect towards religious fundamentals.
Sixthly, followers of different religions should also be encouraged to compete in the undertakings of good deeds, for example, in upholding the rights of the poor and the needy, enjoining good deeds and forbidding evil deeds, be it towards the common citizens or their leaders, through proper, cultured, honest and sincere means.
