My suggestion to MCA is to fully abandon the constituencies that abandoned you, focus only in those where you have a modicum of support from the Chinese and give greater attention to the Malay constituents who have supported you despite your previous neglect of their well-being. I know for a fact that many Malay constituents complained of being neglected by their non-Malay YBs whom they claimed were only attending to the needs of their respective communities.
For Johor, it is obvious that the Chinese had not only totally rejected the BN formula, but had also clearly sent a message that they do not need MCA to champion their needs on the ground and had emphatically shown their contempt for the moderate ways of Johor Malays as exemplified by their total abandonment of Dato Ghani Othman in Gelang Patah.
My early calculations of the returns at Gelang Patah indicates that Dato Ghani Othman received well under 5% of the Chinese votes. There is also strong indication from the voting patterns that there are substantial Malay votes that went to Kit Siang in Gelang Patah, showing that some of these Malays would rather have a Chinese chauvinist than a Malay moderate as their representative, although I suspect that these are PAS and PKR supporters. However, since I don't have access to detailed PDM-level data, I can only depend on my own assessment of the total results of the state and Parliament seats figures.
The moderate Johor Way is no longer relevant in Johor. Moderation will only lead to the Chinese demanding more and more as they think the BN Malays are hard-up for their support, but pandering to them will only gain BN their contempt and they will display their scorn for the stupid and weak Malays at the ballot box.
On the other hand, angry Malays who see the constant appeasement of the Chinese agenda by their Malay leaders will view them as neglecting the needs of the Malay community and will reject these leaders at the ballot box too.
The Malay middle-class who have well-developed "me first" mental attitude, who have already gained all the benefits from the system, will not appreciate BN's focus in the rural areas either, as to their minds, these rural folks are poor and stayed in the kampungs because they are "bergantung pada bantuan kerajaan, pemalas dan bodoh" and that the government should prioritise their needs because they are the "intelligent" Malays and worthy of further "upliftment".
These Malays are also sufficiently well-off that they have the time to entertain their "lofty" ideals and have no consideration for the issues of the materially poorer folks. Small wonder that these are the ones who fall for the PAS and PKR flawed ideas of islamisation and reformation, one based on imposing their version of religious doctrine, the other on complete acceptance of social libertine values.
Having been totally demonised by the DAP-led Opposition, Umno/BN have at most 5 years to reflect and decide the best course of action to ensure their survival after GE14. In my opinion, Umno must make a choice whether to abandon their 1Malaysia ideals or abandon Malay Unity, as the middle path has already been proven to be totally rejected by both the Malays and the Chinese.
so evil lah you bigcat.... konon nak punish Malaysian that not support UMNO/BN !!
ReplyDelete'Loyal to your country a must , loyal to the gomen or leader when they deserved it'
Where did I wrote punish those who do not support Umno/BN? Give me exact quote of this "punish" statement against those who do not support Umno/BN.
DeleteHahahaa typical PR rant. DOnt listent to this propaganda zombie la Bigcat.
DeletePakatan kacang merah like anon 13.58 only can tell lies laa .
DeleteNajib needs to reward his loyal supporters - the Bumis and the Indians. The chinese are already independent, they don't need Najib or UMNO. So leave them to stand on their 2 feet.
ReplyDeleteBut the chinese failed to take account of the majority's backlash - calls to boycott chinese business are loud.
With a new MB PAS may join UMNO seeing thatthey have been used by DAP. If Selangor MB is not from PAS, I'm sure that possibiity is definitely possible.
Indians?
DeleteDespite all his promises of Nambekei, cash handouts, and BR1M, the Indians still rejected the BN. MIC only could get 4 out of the 9 parlimen seats it contested.
This anon 15:52 must be a dapster, trying to drag indians sekali into their current pitfal. FYI indian votes alone is not enough for MIClah. Anyway almost all lower income group indians that i spoke to voted for BN, being gratefully for BRIM.
DeleteAnon21:22
DeleteIndians only for BR1M only? You better ask "What do Indians want after voting for UMNO" just as UMNO ask "what do chinese want"
Aiya, just confiscate the land in Iskandar from the Chinese developers. Then build 20, 000 liw cost flats and move 20, 000 bangla or indon families there. BN sure menang in Gelang Patah next round. Like this also I must teach ??
ReplyDeleteCina Murtad
Good idea. Then the investment dries up in Johor. Good luck with the economy.
DeleteWhy worry about the economy ? The bumiputra goreng pisang stalls can make up the difference. Don't pray pray.
DeleteThe problem is the UMNO Head mahu duit from the chinese that is why they dont want to do what you suggest. UMNO must be bersihkan first. If not it is a waste of time. KJ and gang will use it to make commission from the Chinese. Maybe even Johor UMNO leaders were thinking what is in it for them like Nur Jazlan.
DeleteDid you see Najib and his gang of four on the victory night. Muhyidin with Yeoh Tiong Lay education projects, Sharizat with condos for cows husband, KJ richest unemployed man all tainted with Chinese money.
Rosmah with her bipolar personality.
These haprak malays think umno members or the malays dont know. But we still think of the Malay good first, thats why we woke up early in the hot sun. These people must by kicked out first if the Malays are consolidate their powers.
Najib should thank the malays first and sembah them for putting him in power for he and his bunch actually dont deserve it. Is he disappointed that now he cannot give to the Chinese mega projects because they are openly anti Malays? How to get commission then? Malay contractors dont give commission or if they give they talk... susah lah like this...hehe
why need move bangla and indon ... the DAP cant catch any of phantom voters , they only catch indian and bumiputera Sabah/Sarawak , DAP think they're bangla and indon , so funny to see this racist DAP cant difference who is Malaysian , this is what happen when DAP only mingle with they own race .. and still want talking about racial unity .. DAP must be joking rite ?

Delete"Aiya, just confiscate the land in Iskandar from the Chinese developers."
HAHAHAHAHA....you are so naive about contracts and commercial law. Yes, let's do that, next thing we know we will be sued left right and center and foreign investment will dry up. Yes, let's be Zimbabwe.
I work in the company that has been selling the land to these Chinese Developers, sorry to tell you guys that these are sold to joint ventures companies formed by the likes of UEM/Khazanah/Iskandar Dev with the Chinese Developers. The JVs themselves are populated by many races but are heavily Malay staff, so yes, let's put all these people out of work.
There is a silver lining despite all this Big Cat. If YBs from MCA can help out more Malays and vice versa, then we can be truly Malaysia. PR will be irrelevant. Time to embark on the change with BN. We are growing more Malaysian. And PR's racial (and should I say religious) politics will have no place here.
ReplyDeleteI like the sound of this. Perhaps this in itself can eventually repair the race relations between Chinese and malays eventually. Providing both sides are truly sincere in pursuing the effort.
DeleteFat hope - unofficial news, singapore chinese papers instruct all malaysian chines to vote dap and become greater singapore especially johor
DeleteThe numbers clearly shows majority chinese voted dap including mca. Let's hope the Malays are still "kind" to chinese. Many are angry with these greedy ingrates.
The Indons also believe the close-knit relationships exist among chinese in singapore, malaysia and indonesia transcends nationality.
And the bumis are NOW aware of these undercurrents.
I am glad you see what I see. I have said it in Life of Annie's blog. The results are out and we should move on. The only reason why PR and in particular DAP is moving into the heart and soul of Chinese Malaysian is pretty much because of the younger, urban voters want to see a multi-ethnic party.
DeleteUMNO made some pretty bad boo boos during Pak Lah's time. The racial comments during UMNO meetings are still etched in the minds of the Chinese. The pendatang word is, even in my own humble opinion, very insulting to a person born and bred in Malaysia like me. Much less a 'go back to China' comment. The worse part is the moderate UMNO has no voice in this while the media plays up the story to sell more papers/get more viewership.
I think DSN, despite his wife and lousy ex- cabinet line up, did a reasonably good job. I really hope he can last another term after the UMNO election end of this year. However, he needs to get rid of synchopants around him. And please get rid of the Public Relations team. You don't need them, DSN. Get more feedback from Malaysian like me on how to win back the Chinese votes. Trust me, not all of us are pro-DAP. Ask Tun M how he garnered Chinese support during his 22 years of rule.
Personally I prefer to look at the candidate from the party than the party itself. Keep pooling good candidates. No Zul Nordin please. It is no brainer Khalid Samad won the seat. How can a PAS candidate be deem to appear more moderate than a BN candidate?
It is disheartening to read so many negative comments on each other especially from haters from both divides. Political differences should not be an impediment to nation building. BN needs to relook into their strategy. And it is really simple. Take effort to understand each other. Tak kenal maksud tak cinta.
Both sides can learn from this and come out as better political parties to represent us.
There was a discussion with my friends where we wondered if UMNO itself can evolve into a different political entity to fit the changing political landscape.
DeleteIt might take a while, but remember there was a time when Tun Jaafar Onn had hoped that UMNO will be open to all races.
If MCA and MIC had proven to be irrelevant to the voters, would it not be possible that UMNO could hold all 3 main races in Malaysia and become a truly multiracial party?
(I might get stoned for saying this, but heck, I can dream, right?)
Agreed that Pak Lah's time in PM had made way for a lot of terrible mistakes. We can't afford that again because look - 2 elections and still it's a struggle to repair the cracks.
Agree on Najib needs to get on the grounds to really know what's going on. Tun M was better at it because he's literally your everyday Malayan who made his way up to the political ladder. I feel like he's more 'street smart'. Najib I believe had a considerably more privileged life, but he's not a bad man. But there're some grassroot issues that he doesn't seem to get. This has to be fixed, fast.
The first strategy BN should take is to not counter racism with more racism, and understand that even there is less of it than before, there're still Chinese support for the government (else MCA would've won 7 seats). They have to make sure that they'll never equate DAP politicking and your everyday Chinese citizen. But instead acknowledge that DAP's propaganda have seeped deep into the Chinese psyche and that it's a big problem.
What a stupid comment from this Solo dude. He and others can't get over the fact that the urbanites just won't tolerate the inaction on corruption anymore. Look at Taib Mahmud and Shahrizat families. Look at Tiong and others. Frankly, Ibrahim Ali and Zul Noordin are just sideshows....every society will have clowns like these. But what happened to the defiance of clowns like Taib, shahrizat and Musa Aman ? You think the educated believe these people ? Where have you folks been living ?
DeleteAnd that is precisely the problem with people like anon 16:52, who is so perasan that its state of being "educated" qualify it to label everyone who doesn't agree with its point of view as "stupid".
DeleteUrbanites konon .. won't tolerate corruption konon .. and yet they close their eyes to the rampant forms of corruption being practiced in the private sector, those things that is being accounted away as "entertainment/cost of marketing".
You thingies make me truly sick with the hypocrisy.
Now MCA becomes Malay-Chinese Association and truly is BN's 1 Malaysia. I will vote them
DeleteNajib needs to reward his buddies in Cayman Islands and BVI. Use 1MDB to issue more overpriced bonds. Nobody will understand the scam.
ReplyDeleteCuri2 1Malaysia
This time Indian votes 50%-50%, so no more 80% BN bloc like last time.
ReplyDeleteIn urban areas, Indian 65% PR.
So, UMNO/BN has only rural Malays support.
PR is expanding with middle-class, urban Malays & minorities support.
~ Kluang girl
Don't underestimate the Malays. whatever our social background is, when the thin line is crossed, we know how to unite in a heartbeat.
Deletespeak for yourself la dol
DeleteBN only get from rural Malay support ? what a joke !
DeleteModerate malay tend to be quite, but DONOT cross the line. I voted for PR in GE12, but BN in GE13. Umno is getting stronger with more voices in the Parlimen. GE13 wakes the moderate malay, there are now red line, BBC campaign Boikot Barang China. So sad this is happening, but believe me you play with fire, you'll get burnt.
Deletehey kluang girl,
DeleteI am an Indian and I am telling you the urbanites indians who voted for PR are completely hypocrites. Based on what did they vote for PR, whom couldn't even accept a simple Hindraf blueprint. Do you thing PR is transparent and free of corruption? Pls go n enlighten yourself at this site: http://dapinsider.com/.
All you dumb selfish Indian urbanites who voted for PR should thank the majority lower income group indians who voted for BN. If not for them, the majority malays ,and the minority chinese (there were few who did vote for BN), right now will be having a pervert as a PM. A pervert, who spins shamelessly all the time just for his selfish, personal lust for power. God, I hope for greeater good this man would be gone forever from political arena.
dey.. there are so many hindraf..which one is the real one represent the indian community ??
DeleteAnon-21.38
DeleteThamby/Aneh, Najib should thank you for your vote. Is he just going give Indians chicken bones or finger licking good drumstick? Otherwise like he told chinese - similar to Indians " what do you want"?
.. mintak tolong, MCA. Vote, DAP ..
ReplyDeleteNow MCA dah tarak ada.. macam mana? Mau mintak tolong DAP? Tolong diri sendiri saja lah..
MCA hanya tolong diri sendiri, mana ada tolong rakyat marhean, patutlah dikena tendang !! M C A ...Mahu Cari Angpow $$$$
DeleteAnon 22:05, people like you are the reason I suggested that MCA simply close up their public assistance offices in places they've lost and relocate to constituencies where BN won.
DeleteFurther more, the next Johor MB should not appoint JPMM to places like Skudai, Bentayan, Mengkibol, Penggaram, Bukit Batu and Senai either. They already have their chosen ADUNs and MPs from DAP and PKR to improve their lives and resolve their problems. These ADUNs and MPs are paid allowances from federal and state coffers, same as BN ADUNs and MPs. No excuses for non-performance.
Before election, MCA oredi vacate their parliament seats like Galang Patah. MCA oredi close their service centre Imagine Chua - general of MCA do not want to fight? UMNO talk big and want to contest. Why not talk big to open UMNO service centre? BTW, MCA service centre operates like Tabib Cina Clinic according to former MP Ms Tan.

ReplyDeleteIn 2008, Bijan went to see Badawi and demanded that Badawi step down for poor polls performance. In 2013, the evil Mamakthir went on record as saying that Bijan should make way for someone else if Bijan cannot do better that the 2008 GE.
So what now ? Will Bijan resign or will he be pushed out ? Personally I think Bijan should quit honorably. What say you ?
Curi2 1Malaysia.
The malays should stop politiking. Start using all your mental faculties to understand the present political games of the opposition.Dont aesily be cheated by them...even if they wear the cloak and a little unattended beard under their chin. Listen only to the sincere as your first lesson in thinking. All along I have voted for you UMNO.Congatulation you made it,despite some your own race despise you.

DeleteYou melayus are not very smart lah . You think you can teach the chinese a lesson by buying Chinese last ? Nooooooooo, you teach the Chinese a lesson by making ibrahim ali and zulkifli noordin as senators then give them cabinet posts. Ibrahim ali gets ministry of trade and industry while zul noordin gets ministry of social affairs.
ReplyDeleteThat's the lesson our YBs might serve. But we ordinary "powerless" Malays will do our part, too. When the Malays executed an anti-Zionist campaign against Mc'D and Nestle, Mc'D had to come out with a series of ads begging for sympathy.
DeleteBuy Chinese last!
I hope the govt and rakyat doesn't forget the Sabah Incursion. Investigate untill we find the traitors who assist the bandits into violating our country sovereignty. Maybe then we can solve the current problem of Malay Unity.
ReplyDeleteWe Malaysian Chinese only want One thing: stop plundering the nation's wealth. Stop stealing in the name of race and religion, and you will regain our support. Just to be clear, we don't support the chinese tycoons who are in cahoots with you in plundering the nation's wealth.
ReplyDeletestop plundering the nation's wealth ? care to explain to us Tailorgate ? the sand mining scandal in Selangor when Khalid was MB ? what about the transfer of land titles to the Nga and Ngeh cousins ? care to explain ? don't just accuse this and that. look at your own people. you too have skeletons in your closets.

Maybe all rakyat who reported are stupid and UMNo Government servants makan gaji buta and spend their time looking into X-rate website just like one enforcement officer into Teoh Beng Hock's case just $3k surf X-rate website. I want to apply for the job too but disqualify because of kulit.
DeleteAnon 17.31..agreed.
ReplyDeleteYou BN folks still don't get it. What we urbanites want is true transparency. We don't buy the janji ditepati rakyat di dahulukan shit. PKFZ RM 12 billion scandal - who benefitted ? All you do is charge Ling with a misdemeanour. Cowgate scandal - you charge Salleh with CBT, what about the rest ? What are the plans to recover monies in Singapore and malaysia ? 1MDB buying assets at massively inflated prices and issuing bonds to friends at inflated yields. This scam is going to continue with Rosie and Jlo ?
ReplyDeleteThose who take the RM 500 won't understand the number of zeros in a billion. We urbanites do. Walk the talk, and not just talk and talk.
you are one hell of a Red Bean Army trooper. you sound convincing to the unsuspecting reader. you claimed that you are part of the urban crowd. well, everyone can say the same thing too and nobody really knows.
Deletespeaking of transparency, what about the DAP's CEC elections ? the public too want to know what really transpired. yet until today, the DAP has chosen to remain silent. is silence an admission that indeed, fraudulent voting and malpractice really occurred ?
Anom 9.36,
DeleteHow about Talam. How about PKNS land sale????
Bullshit with your stand on corruption. Sebelah mata lagi tido ke? Sakit saraf ke? Why don't you demand the same of PKR after TalamGate, Kampung Buah Pala Gate, and the other gates? Why don't you query Lim Guan Eng on how he can bring a RM6 billion project to agreement so quickly? And then change it willy nilly to RM4 billion because of a "typo"?
DeleteIs BN corrupt? Since they themselves brought their own people to trial, the answer is yes. Is Pakatoon corrupt? Yes, but people like you will continue to conveniently forget about that.
urbanites?.. now you want to hide your kiasu identity by labelling yourself as urbanites..bull crap..i myself a budak bandar and i dont trust the shit pakatan put in buku jingga..look good on the outside but rotten and smell like shit..dont flatter yourself too much with your math ability..it's worth nothing

You mean PR Government wil be worse than BN Government who allow MACC Officer to search X-rate picture in the Government Computer during Teoh Beng Hock Investigation? You mean it is proper for Government to use taxpayers money and RTM, TV1 & 2 to support its election?
DeleteI love it when BN troopers talk about Talam, DAP internal affairs, penang projects. If there were wrongdoings, we can be sure that MACC and other crony organisations will act super fast.
