Choices

Yesterday was hectic and I was cooped up all day in meetings after meetings, with hardly a break in between for refreshments consisting large doses of caffeine and crackers from the pantry.  Last night was another marathon in front of the computer, trying to get things done to meet today's 9:00 am deadline.  Phew!

This morning I managed to get around at my usual stalking grounds on the net, and found a few things which I think worth mentioning.

The first is Annie's piece about the current political situation in Gelang Patah.  I think what makes most people worry for Ghani is that the contrast between his approach to that of the DAP is so glaring, that it looks very bad for him.  I admit that I am a bit miffed that I am tied with things here in the office that I have not been able to observe first hand the circus in Gelang Patah.

However, a friend who is also working in the back office of Ghani's campaign told me over the phone that all the BN components in Gelang Patah are working in the background to make sure Ghani's campaign reach as many people as possible.  She has not been getting much front-line action either, but has been getting snippets of information from visiting people who are actively campaigning in various place in South Johor.

She has surmised that for the moment, the toughest fight for BN are in Kluang, Tebrau and Gelang Patah.  She also said Segamat, Bakri, Muar, Batu Pahat and Pulai are also tough for BN, but are less worrying than the first three.  When I told her that DAP are claiming that Pakatan can win at least 12 parliamentary seats, she laughed out right, and couldn't stop her giggles while answering rather diplomatically that "Well, yes, that is possible I suppose, if Allah Wills it".

Next thing I read was Bee Kim's Old Friend piece and this one about Ghani.  Kind of getting to know a little bit about Ghani through the eyes of Bee Kim.

I also caught SatD's latest piece about why Lim Kit Siang was ISA'ed way back then.

OK, I've got to rush and make my pitch.  But to be sure, I will be in Gelang Patah on May 5th to cast my choice.

  1. I am going to cast my vote at Gelang Patah too this coming Sunday. My first ever voting exercise. And I'm going to vote for Ghani and BN candidates, both for Parliament & State seats. I pray that BN wins, and brings Johor & Malaysia to better & greater height.

My vote is for greater power to SPRM, as laid out in BN manifesto.

The DAP are drumming around with their noisy Chinese drum and their van with loud speaker too, will played "save Malaysia song of their version' when ever they hold ceramah in that area ,probably telling to the people in that area that they are holding the ceramah.
The sound of the drum could be implicate as drum of war ,thus could irritate the Malay ears ,even BN also didn't do that ,it's reminds how the Chinese drumming around in KL before th 13th May.
What ever their intention but I thing the Malay take it as showing off ,as if they are in controlled .

    1. Is that normal? The war drums being used during campaigning by DAP? I have not heard of such things before, and I don't think I've heard these drums being struck near the neighborhood of Taman Sri Skudai.

  3. WHEN THE CITIZENS OF OUR BELOVED MALAYSIA DEMAND A CHANGE OF GOVERNMENT, IT IS THEIR RIGHT. BUT WHEN A VERY RICH INDIVIDUAL INSTIGATES AND CREATES ALL SORTS OF SCENARIOS TO CAPTURE THEIR VOTES, THIS IS FOR HIS OWN INDIVIDUAL SELFISH INTEREST AND AMBITION FOR POWER TO RULE OVER US. Why should we vote for such an individual (and give him the power which he does not deserve). who is no better than you and me ? The only difference is that he is very rich. Is this fair to support such a selfish and ambitious individual ? Please think carefully fellow compatriots!

  4. If your friend is right that the BN backroom sees Ghani in trouble in Gelang Patah, it makes me rather depressed for BN's chances with few other candidates matching what he has achieved or given to Johor in his career. With only a few days to go all we should be contacting all the people we know to get them interested in getting out to vote. Support BN!

    1. I am contacting as many people as I can too, people whom I know personally, to come out and support Dato Ghani. I heard there's also a group of girls, making calls in the name of "Kelab Penyokong Dato Ghani" to assist in making it easier for people to come out and vote for BN candidates in Gelang Patah.

    2. BN machinery not good enough? Ghani is BN heavy weight, should not have problem of BN campaign team.

    3. I'm sure the BN campaign team is doing just fine, but I just want to do my bit to help out. Every vote counts.

    4. When it comes to campaigning especially in a very tight race, never assume enough is enough. Oppositions get lots of media coverage for their antics. Cheap publicity, maybe, but they grap wide attention. So, BN needs all the helps that they can get to reach as many as they can.

  5. WHY THE OPPOSITION DOES NOT TELL THE TRUTH THAT THE PAP GOVERNMENT OF SINGAPORE LOST US$108 BILLIONS (RM350 BILLIONS) OF ITS CITIZENS TRUST MONEY IN OCTOBER 2008 ON WALL STREET? And its citizens NEVER DEMANDED THAT THE PAP GOVERNMENT BE CHANGED !

WHY THE OPPOSITION DEMANDS THAT THE BN GOVERNMENT BE CHANGED IN THEIR FAVOUR WHEN THE BN GOVERNMENT HAS DONE NOTHING WRONG ? Absurd !

    1. Can't claim he's my mentor because he's not, and I have no political aspirations either. I just like Dato Ghani much better than the other fellow. Besides, he's definitely better looking than that uncle he's up against.

WE WILL BE ENSLAVED FOREVER. OUR MALAY COMPATRIOTS AND US WILL LOSE A HOMELAND, OUR HISTORICAL, CULTURAL AND RELIGIOUS LEGACY THROUGH TNE HANDS OF THESE FOREIGN BACKED PROXIES. Deny ! Deny ! 8. What happen to PAP is for Singaporean to decide not Malaysian. If you think BN is corruption free, please vote for BN but others do have the right to vote for what they believe. Ask Sharizat or Taib, they will tell you BN is God sent and under BN all races are prosperous as they are.

    1. Same thing if you ask Lim Kit Siang or Anwar Ibrahim. They will tell you nepotism and cronyism are bad, but only when it is done by "the corrupt people". When DAP or PKR does it, it's okay, no need to worry. Pakatan is just being corrupt for the sake of the "rakyat".

  9. IN EUROPE, YOU BUY A BEEFBURGER YOU GET A HORSEBURGER OR A PORKBURGER. THIS IS CALLED MIS-LABELLING NOT CHEATING.

IN OUR BELOVED MALAYSIA, YOU VOTE THE SINGAPOREAN TROJAN HORSE DAP YOU GET PAS. YOU VOTE PAS YOU GET DAP. YOU VOTE PKR YOU GET NOTHING. Where am I ?

Vote BN. All Malaysians. At least you know you get BN which delivered goodies for 56 years and will deliver more goodies the next 56!

  10. If Ghani is quiet, where are the GP MCA crowd. They should be getting their supporters primed and also trying to sway the undecided Chinese. UMNO is finding it increasingly hard to clap with its other hand (MCA/MIC/Gerakan) next to useless. Time for them to get their act together. This battle counts.

  11. DATO SERI NAJIB BIN TUN ABDUL RAZAK AND THE BN WITH THE UMNO AND THE 14 COMPONENT PARTIES HAVE DELIVERED THE GOODIES SINCE 1957. THE GOODIES ARE ALREADY DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY IN THE POCKETS OF THE RAKYAT.
THE SINGAPOREAN TROJAN HORSE DAP WITH ITS DIGITS OR COHORTS (LKY's favourite words) DELIVERED NOTHING. THE ONLY THING WAS THE DAP LEADERSHIP CONTEMPLATED HIS NAVEL FOR 47 LONG YEARS.
DATO SERI NAJIB'S TRANSFORMATION PROGRAMMED WILL DELIVER MORE GOODIES FROM 2013 AS PROMISED.
THE SINGAPOREAN TROJAN HORSE DAP WITH ITS DIGITS OR COHORTS PROMISED THE RAKYAT VIRTUAL MONEY FROM HEAVEN ONLY. NOTHING AS YET IN THE RAKYAT'S POCKETS.

Vote BN. All Malaysians. Vote BN for the REAL money signed by the Gabenor of Bank Negara Malaysia and not for the Opposition's FUNNY money as promised.

  12. Any layman can easily compare Ghani Othman's track record in developing Johor vs the "track record" of Lim Kit Siang in his 44 years of power. Lim Kit Siang is a noisy ti can - cakap banyak, isi langusng tak de. All he knows is to spew hatred and racist rhetoric. This is all he is good for, since the 1960's.

And he is so old, he might already be a vampire.

Given the choice between a proven hard-working an humble man, versus a, well, piece of shit, really (and that would give shit a bad name): if the Chinese still choose the piece of shit, then we'll know what they are really made of then, won't we.
