I read with interest Helen's latest posting about Wong Chun Wai's ‘GE13: Don’t ignore the Chinese voice’ piece and I couldn't help giggling over it.
Talk about playing both sides, this is a classic case study of how you handle the situation after your horse lost the race.
As I don't read The Star, not even their online version, I didn't really pick up The Star's about turn as I don't really care to know what The Star have to impart.
Thanks to Helen, I get to see The Star's hedging game, of maintaining some link to the incumbent through a few pieces, but largely giving free reign to the "educated urbanites" within their ranks to express themselves openly.
Now that their horse didn't win, they immediately go into damage control.
I think when Wong Chun Wai wrote about the over confidence of the urban Chinese voters of their ability to topple BN, he was expressing The Star's own confidence of that outcome too, because The Star is the voice of these "educated urbanites".
This is truly the case of believing their own spin, and reinforcing that belief among the blinkered believers within their own circle in what I would normally term as "syok sendiri".
Now they realise, too late I would think, that they really needed the "uneducated" rural Malays and Bumiputras after all to win Putrajaya.
So they are going to continue the resentment momentum among the "educated urbanites" through the 505 rallies, playing the blame game to the hilt in the social media, and at the same time advocating reconciliation and moderation through their unofficial spokespeople.
Clearly an active accomplice in the build up of the Chinese Tsunami or what they prefer to call the Urban Tsunami nowadays, The Star is now in turn about mode too, all out playing the "we are all Malaysians" music, something you would never hear them playing with such vigor prior to May 5th.
The fact is, the Chinese have revealed themselves. The Malays have taken note. And The Star is singing 1Malaysia.
I agree with you. The Chinese played their card and now nothing is hidden anymore. The game is transparent and even the previously pro PAS Malays I know can see the game the Chinese played. No Melayu believes them anymore.
ReplyDeleteNow they are trying hard to backpedal but no one believes them. It's just too late. But they don't seem to realise this. They still think they can resort to their tried and tested buat muka tak malu, grin, and angkat tangan with their duplicitous "Kawan apa macam!" game.
The Cina will just have to be taught a lesson they won't soon forget. Buy Chinese Last. I'm glad to report I have been slowly hacking off buying from Cina shops. I don't even walk into one anymore.
Agaknya ... the Star tu adalah luahan hati sebenar pemimpin MCA yg kecil hati dgn BN ... lain kata undilah DAP ... boleh percaya ?
ReplyDeleteKecil hati for what, exactly? Pray tell what little luxury has UMNO not provided to the underperforming MCA? No business contracts? Yet the top 10 billionaires list in Malaysia are topped by who? No education? Yet who helped set up Unitar and gave it recognition, then provided millions to Chinese independent schools?
DeleteCina just cannot have enough, is my assessment. Give some, they want all. They will now stop at nothing less, greed has gone to their heads.
ReplyDeleteWe are all 1 Malaysia ,that what they are singing,
1 Malaysia who cant speak the Malaysian language,
1 Malaysia who don't prefer the Malaysian line of education,
1 Malaysia who chose vernacular school instead national school,
1 Malaysia who didn't adept to Malaysian life and reality ,
We are all 1 Malaysia when it's come to benefit their own, otherwise we are only 'cali makan'
This 1 Malaysia singing can go on, but the reality ,we only have one Malaysia as a country only.
Yes melayus please unite. Ini tanah air kita - our homeland. Please melayus let us safeguard our homeland.
ReplyDeleteBoycott Star by not buying their paper like I do. Anyway, their articles are inferior to New Straits Times, so do their English.
ReplyDeleteMCA was part of the game plan but got caught by PM about a year ago when in Terengganu the PM warn of no representation if the Chinese choose to be racist. CSL promptly replied 'so be it'. Now with the new Home minister the press need to be careful inspite of fteedom of speech.
ReplyDeleteBC,
ReplyDeleteI hv stopped buying the Star almost immediately after GE13. Also telling family and frenz to do same. Want to contribute to whatever initiative malays take in response to chinese voters' attempt to topple the malay-led bn govt. But we MUST ACT STRATEGICALLY & in UNITY! I hv a feeling pru14 is gonna be interesting!
Dear Bigcat,
ReplyDeleteThe Star today gives Pakatan Rakyat thanksgiving, read DAP, full monty page and headline treatment. Proof of the pie.
Best regards
Freddie
I know Freddie, my sister told me about it.
DeleteWe are giving them back the taste of their own medicine...
ReplyDeleteA chinese just moved next door and there was a break-in. Curious about the neighbourhood, she came to my house to enquire if I saw any suspicious charactors lurking around... first sentence I gave her was "tak tau tak tau", when in actual fact my guard saw the burglars in action (did nothing not even try to scare them away or call the police). Padan muka!
She went on trying to get some clearer picture of tis area as I have been living here (Taiping) for the last 30years, each query she got the "tak tau tak tau" answer...
Not only dont buy their products, don't even layan them! This is not the Malay culture but I am now going to follow exactly what they have been doing to us since Merdeka. Semua jawab tak tau tak tau...
Cool...I like your response..
DeleteLet's hope you and your family wont be robbed or hurt by any untoward incidents..amen
If I lost direction I would avoid asking the Chinese ,because I know the answer ,"wa tak tau cakap".
DeleteGood for you. They are enemies of the state dont you know. The chinese will always be chinese hence mandarin schools language and culture. Tak tau tak tau is the best answer.
DeleteThere is no reason for the Chinese to be here and we give them citizenships. What for? They have no right just like the bangla or myanmar has no right to ask for citizenships.
Your actions will make them think of leaving. The robbers were probably low paid workers of another chinese factories.
Evil they are and not worth your time.
So ask yourself? what chinese shop have you avoided today?
And every day until they leave malaysia for good.
BC,
ReplyDeleteOrang Melayu must read the STAR, kalau tak we become like a frog under the temperung, donno what dia orang mengata tentang orang Melayu. Kalau semua Melayu pandai Mandarin, lagi menggurutu baca kalut malut surat khabar depa. Pernah mesyuarat dengan puak depa, paling sakit hati tengah mesyuarat ( in English) depa sama depa cakap Mandarin.
I already know what they are saying, so I doubt that anything else they have to say would make much difference to me. I have other things to read, other sources of news material, other interests to pursue, and I can't be bothered with The Star and it's skewed messages. I won't waste time or money on them. Reading Helen was what got me to even have enough of an impression of what they are doing to write about it, and that's because Helen, as always, is very thorough with her facts and evidences.
DeleteYeah BC, like you, I only follow Helen to know what the star is all about. Before GE13 I buy the star only on Saturday. Now, I stop buying it totally. With WCW try so hard in defensive mode, no need for us to buy the star.
DeleteBy the way BC, I read Helen 'What a bloody joke!' and then I found out that there's a video of TC been arrested. It soo funny BC.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQjqSnBBCME
This two jokers really make my day yesterday.
But then, like I put on my blog, 'And why I suddenly wanted to laugh and cry at the same time?' it a wonder this two was given a big portfolio by PKR dan the Star. Sometimes their attitude just like a child. or in case of WCW a teenagers.

When I read blogs like this..I feel fired up..and my hate for the cinapeks just escalated to 212*C. But then later, when I go to shops and see people and the cinapeks..and see how they and I can get along in conversations..in evryday things etc.. life goes on. These cinapeks arent that bad..afterall they are humans just like you and I. I think bloggers and the commentators either pro-bn or opposition actually sow the seeds of hatred amongst us. We must stop it..if not our lives will be shattered and we can no longer find peace.
ReplyDeleteYe la kan .. how racist this blog is kan?
DeleteI am racist to the core against the Cina, like I don't have a single drop of Chinese blood in me kan?
Whatever this blog write about the Cina is nothing but different forms of racist incitement and sowing hatred against the Cina kan?
And of course I have never written anything about moderation, and try being a little bit trusting of the Chinese to see beyond race, kan?
Like I have never expressed my trust to make their choices based on rational thoughts and track record, kan? That the Chinese never betrayed my trust in their capability to look beyond race kan?
And please stop pretending to imply you are Malay when you are not, because isn't it rather low, even for a Red Bean Army trooper to do so?
Melayu dari dulu sampai sekarang masih sama saja. Cina baca ayat Quran dua tiga kerat, senyum angkat tangan "Hai kawan apa macam!", Melayu dah weak at the knees. Tak ada jati diri. When people stab you inn the back while smiling, you think, "Hey, this guy is not so bad after all?" Piss off.
Deletehaiya ah beng, you doing damage control 3.0 hah?
DeleteIf you are a red bean and I'm sure you are you failed miserably to convince me.
DeleteIf you are a Malay which I don't think you are, you are lying big time and I hate you.
My friendly sundry shop apek was very nice to me but now I stopped patronising his shop and buy only from a Bumiputra shop although the price is ten to twenty sen higher. I know his supplier were the apeks and the price is higher to the Bumiputra shopkeeper but I don't mind.
Spot on Ramayana...Cinapeks are nothing more than a blood sucking setan...come to think of it i think setan is nicer than Cinapeks..
DeleteAnd you folks believe the chinese hater Helen Ang ? You believe the Christian hater Helen Ang ? You believe the DAP hater Helen Ang ? You believe the Star hater Helen Ang ? The fat woman who is on a vengeance after being dumped by a chinese-educated Christian guy ?
Delete7:41 cakap la apa kau suka. Ini space free saja, mah.
DeleteAnon 07.41
DeleteYES. YES. YES. YES and NO I trust that she made the right decision by dumping that DAPig A@#4%Hole.
Passed by several malay/manak new stalls this morning.
ReplyDeleteNo Utusan and No Star too. Was told Utusan sold out. The Star, was it because there is no printed copy due to wesak or the malasys stop selling them?
i prefer the old big cat
ReplyDeleteSuppose there are two flavors of ice cream- vanilla and strawberry. Suppose you prefer vanilla but the shop have only strawberry left. That doesn't mean that you need to leave the shop. Stupid.
DeleteHelen is just another journalist prostitute but worse she did it for free out of her hatred against the Star.
ReplyDeleteThe term prostitute applies to people who get paid for doing things one wouldn't normally do for free. Like the paid Komtar CTs who get paid a certain rate per comment. If Helen's doing it for free, the term prostitute obviously cannot be applied to her.
DeleteOoooooooooooooo DAP donkey. Is it too much to ask that you fuckers finish high school so that you can make some worthy arguments for a change?
Deletei like the new bigcat style. so garang ! I am all behind you bigcat.
DeleteJB Boy
red bean is so cina low class, we prefer classy ones like, almonds, cashew, walnuts etc
DeleteOverhead and underhead not so big masih lagi nak tunjuk big appetite.
DeleteBe gone red bean, this forum is for the wise and highly educated not for any junior middle graduate. Shoo....shooo.
Oi Ramayana , don't be so cocky. We know your degree is a mail order degree from the US. Somehow got endorsed by the MOE.
DeleteRed bean cybertroopers cannot accept the truth as told by Helen. Grow up red beans and seek the truth.
Delete7:44 bwahahahaha. Kalau dah terasa tentu lu yang makan cili la tu. Kan. Memang tak habis high school ye, bang. Kesiannyeeee.
DeleteEven if they become nyonya and baba once again, the Malays had seen enough, especially Najib whose cheeks are still redafter the chinese tsunami tight slap.
ReplyDeleteDon't ever listento kiasu sifus they know nuts about kampong Malays.
hehe padan muka cina tamak haloba.
Senang cerita: even if all the Cina wear kebaya - even the male ones - the Melayus and other races are not interested to hear whatever they have to say anymore.
DeleteWho's talking about made in China products? China has been a good friend of Malaysia. Why do you think the American eagles have been circling us all this while?
DeleteThe Cina middlemen - yes, THOSE we want to kill off. Vultures preying on the blood and sweat of our fishermen and farmers. The Cina middlemen and the Cina retailers. We don't need to buy direct from them anymore when there is the internet.
Buy direct from the internet ? Go direct to China ? Learn mandarin first la...then learn some tolerance to non halal stuff....don't be arrogant....
DeleteYakyakyakyakyak. Like the BCL and ABC Melayus and other races give a flying fuck. In fact, the more you open your mouth, the more you push new people onto the bandwagon. Thanks, der!
DeleteAsalkan Bukan Cina -DAP / Star / dan yang sewaktu dengannya...
ReplyDeleteThe EC's redistricting exercise will create a new terrain for GE14 battles with a potential for more urban seats and East Malasysian seats. While everyone is being lured into an argumentn over the GE13 results and what they mean the opposition is already planning and making their next moves. I can't see any of the current arguments leading to a productive gain of votes for BN by GE14. These discussions are a dead end politically.
ReplyDeleteLike we give a flying fuck. Kuburkan saja 1Malaysia. Rakyat sokong. We don't need to layan the Uber Racist Cina anymore. Let them wither on the vine and seek help from their DAP tokongs. That's what they asked for, so we should give it to them. Kan ke lagi bodoh tu, 95% of satu bangsa yang bodoh.
ReplyDeleteini ada satu incident terbaru kat KFC,
ReplyDeletea young malay KFC girl di counter tu bertanya dengan baik kat customer lelaki cina,
`Encik, ini CREDIT CARD ke atau DEBIT CARD?'
lelaki cina tu dengan KASAR jawab;
`APA? APA? LU MAU? ITU CREDIT CARD LA....'
GUA kat belakang cina tu cakap dalam hati dah terbakar `ni cina ni tak pasai2 lunyai aku kerjakan nih....sabar!sabar!sabar! dia belum ada fizikal contact lagi tuh..., sabar!sabar!sabar!'
so maksudnya kat sini selagi tak ada fizikal contact tak boleh buat apa2 kan....
tapi hati masih tak puas hati lagi nih...macamana?
There is this country in South East Asia situated between Indonesia , Thailand and the Philippines . It has a population of some 28 to 30 million and is independent and a member of UN ASEAN, WHO, IDB, IMF and what not.
ReplyDeleteThe countrys climate is warm and hot and wet. The weather forcast is very simple and boring, its either rain or no rain with either thunder or lightning which the countries huge golfing community often dread
The countrys population is made up of many races and one particular race with its yellowish skin and slit eyes ie are rather predominant even though they are not a majority. These people have no specific religion , some are Christians or just sporting Christian names for glamour but they never go to church except weddings and funerals when they have no money when they die. Most are aetheist and they only worship MONEY.They pray thay the have 3C's ie CASH CARS and Condo (like their big brother in that small island down south)Gambling is their time honoured profession even at young age.
They were however fortunately given Citizenship of the country even they were not originally sons of the soil and without paying a single cents unlike if they apply for such Australia or Canada for example. Here they bargained and got have their own schools,no need to be integrated with the national education system. They have huge own temples, own cultures and own homes and towns WITHOUT even having to be integrated within the country. They have their own way of doing their own cultures like prayers and Chinese new years they make huge noises with their illegal fire crackers all defying the laws
They have hundreds of newspapers and dailies free to be sold and circulated. Most news are for their own people and always say the countrys government is bad. Most don't know how to speak the local language even after 3 generations in this country.
They refused to be assimilated with the local cultures. They are rich and no one family is poor unless the really lazy ones. You go to the malls in KL and PJ and all the private hospitals you see them
They own most shops and business, all business legal and illegal .They trade in women, in prostitute and call girls and they are the ones that makes the country high on pirated products like VCD, Software and also handbags
They trade in most and also hold monopolies and they jealously guard them through their exclusive chambers of commerce and clan associations
They owned thousand and thousand of hectares of oil palm estates, rubber, mines, also also engaged in forestry, timber extractions and mostly are environment destructions but they blame others. The worlds largest rubber gloves business is in their hands and control. They own more than 80% of the listed companies and banks and also those illegal and underground money lending and loans of the underworld
They are given datukships and Tans Sris, and national honours and many of their rich men have concubines here and in Spore, HK, Taipeh which they secretly kept. Their annual family New Year dinner can come out to tens of thousand dollars per table of 10 in one evening with expensive food , wines, and cigars
Rolex watches are their favourite so are Mercedes, BMWs Audis and all things expensive because they are mostly people who like to show off
BUT all these while they say that they are the oppressed, the underprivilege and the low class in the country. The government is always bad . The police is always bad, the courts are always bad and all are not in their favour.
They said this country where they have been living is practicing apartheid to them. They are oppressed all the time. they have to struggle to make ends meet
I will give you a handsome reward to those who can pick up the following questions and answer them accurately
1)name this south East Asian Country
2)Name the type of race that is being described.
Thank you, arigato gozaimas, danke, nandre
maybe this is the time NOW to make their perpetual complaints a reality - that they are OPPRESSED, 2ND CLASS AND UNWANTED
DeleteWe Chinese businessmen are shaking in our boots....but we are going to retaliate. We will boycott goreng pisang stalls.
ReplyDeletePseudo bravado
DeleteU can goreng yr own pisang at home or better still get yr Indon maid to do it for u since wifey is busy playing mahjong with her kaki
ReplyDeleteBeing a BN and PM Najib supporter, I can understand the many UMNO and pro UMNO NGO anger at the Chinese tsunami which saw en bloc Chinese votes going to the DAP/PAS/PKR. After you cool down maybe this Malays need to understand why this is happening. In 2008 was Indian tsunami. First of all, any eligible Malaysian including Chinese are given the free choice(without force, coercion) to elect any parties to parliment every 5 years.SPR never say you must compulsory vote for BN/UMNO. If that is the case then only allow BN/UMNO party in the ballot paper. So professionally, Chinese has done nothing wrong in voting PAKATAN, it is their choice for GE-13. I remember in GE-11 and many elections before that BN/UMNO won massively due to en-bloc Chinese votes, during those time I never heard BN/UMNO Malay grateful to the Chinese? After 55 years of BN/UMNO Abuses although there are thousand of achievements as well e.g. Excellent Infrastructure, Peace & Harmony, Strong Economy, Strong Industrial sector such as Petrochemical, many Malays, Chinese, Indians, Dayak, etc are fed up with the "structural weaknesses" such as NEP abuses(where very few well connected UMNO top leaders reap millions into their pocket, Civil servant inefficiency(close to 1.2 millions civil servant for a small country), wide spread corruption(agreed the Chinamen are the main culprits), High Crime rate, Drug Addicts etc, people believe other Party should be given a chance to rule instead of BN/UMNO who has monopolised the Government for 55 years. Pls remember BN/UMNO has no god given right to rule Malaysia forever. Other parties such as PAS/PKR/DAP/STAR/ etc also has every right to become Government if the rakyat so chose. I believe if BN/UMNO do not seriously tackle the "Structural Weaknesses"created in the last 55 years, GE-14 will be their end.
ReplyDeleteIt's also their right to make Gelang Patah what it was and now they have to just open up and say ahhhh. They created their own mess.
DeleteAnd you like to talk shit about how only UMNO top leaders reap millions. Whose pockets do they money flow into? Iskandar is owned by a Malay tycoon? Fuck off with your zero intellectual content excuses. We're not interested to hear them anymore.
In our heads there are only two words that keep repeating themselves over and over: GELANG PATAH.
ya ya argument as faulty as a leaking tap. your IQ is perfect for dap brainwashing by red bean commies
DeleteHeard the same statement that PRU 13 will be the end for UMNO/BN. UMNO continue to be more popular with 88 parliament seats better than the 2008 with 79.
DeleteGuess Pakatan Rapuh has to wait again for the next five years.Sorry PR you just have to try harder. It wilk be BN again and again I am afraid.
`I remember in GE-11 and many elections before that BN/UMNO won massively due to en-bloc Chinese votes, during those time I never heard BN/UMNO Malay grateful to the Chinese?'
ReplyDelete........
You sure or not what you saying herewith? any proof GE11 (or before) that BN/UMNO won massively due to chinese en bloc votes? what we do know is, GE11(or before)the chinese voting pattern is always more or less 40/60 which is 40%BN/60%DAP.
you say;
`never heard BN/UMNO Malay grateful to the Chinese?'
You sure or not? look around you carefully.
dont spread lie and manipulation...
any proof, hard evidence, justification?
What we do know during GE13, it is DAP get an UNPRECEDENTED (never in democracy history)95% vote, the proof came from malaysiakini mind you.
setuju 200%
ReplyDeleteeverything for jesus, now they want a new name for him
