The so-called peaceful protest in KL (additional videos and pictures)

This is a sad day indeed....you all watch this and judge for yourself.

The police car eventually had an accident in front of Sogo and the policemen inside beaten up by the rioters.  And they instead claimed that the police car ran into one of the rioters.

My prayers are now for the seriously injured policemen at the HKL ICU and their family.

ADDITIONAL VIDEO CLIPS AND PICTURES

They even hit the policeman on the driver seat after he can't move any more.

And in case anyone still dispute that the rioters did not injure any policemen, watch this -

Upon a request by a pro-riot commenter, here is the picture of the policeman who drove the mobbed police car as he was dragged away by his "rescuers". Note that the "rescuer" in the yellow t-shirt has his hand on his throat -

And for bonus, this is the picture of Mohamad Azri Salleh, the guy wearing the halmet who tried to help the injured policeman in the car but was beaten up by the rioters. He is a cameraman of TV Al Hijrah.

  1. BigCat,

If one should imagined what is happening inside the police car, I think the police panicked and try to get out of the situation. Unfortunately there were too many people around and the protester thought that the police is trying to rammed them up.

This then lead to what happened. That is what I think the most likely probable scenario.

This is an unfortunate incident for those police officers. I hope they recovered from this ordeal.

    1. Don't try to make things up to project that those rioters are just innocent bystanders who think that it was the police who were trying to ram them up. I saw another footage that showed the mob rushed up to the police car, which was just cruising, and they started throwing things at them, obstructing their view, smashing the car windows. That was what caused the accident. Don't try to play down the violence of these mobsters, or rather monsters. I for one will never be party to such lawlessness and violence. I am now no longer atas pagar, I have decided against these monsters.

    1. Yes, I had seen the pro-rioters clip. As you may noticed the police car had already been badly damaged by the rioters when it went out of control and swerved into the pavement. No amount of damage control by you all Pakatan cybertroopers would correct what is wrong with the wanton violence commited by these uncivilised people.

    2. I think the policeman driving the car had already been injured when he lost control of the car. He may had passed out due to it. The wind screen and windows of the car were already smashed by the objects thrown at it at that time.

    3. typical mob mentality. you smashed my windscreen and expect me to drive like an L-Driver. Wake up, with all you lots running around, it amazed me that the car 'choose' to crash and be the target of mobsters like you rather than plough you lot down straight into the safe zone of sane beings. I don't condone your actions, never will.

  3. I totally disagree with your assertion.

Firstly, the demonstration featured significant involvement of Malay youth. The reason they are involved is because of the profligate spending of the Najib administration that seriously jeopardizes their future. Perhaps you are unaware of the other bread and butter economic issues that are at play, that have cause normally docile and domesticated youth to strike out.

The second issue is the clear intention of the Najib Administration to gerrymander the election. They passed a law barring election observers from attesting to the vote counting process.

The question I put forth to you is what is the alternative. BN's pliant media, blogger berbayar and other emotionally unstable people keep on harping praise on Najib, in spite of his glaring inability to govern. The youth had no other outlet but to protest, and they refused to take their fate lying down.

This events led to the mob assault on the police. The car skidded and now there are unconfirmed reports that one person is dead.

My question to you is simple. If the youth do not protest, what is the option?

Simply vote for BN, be governed by Najib, and pay the bills for Rosmah's extravagance.

And please do not deny these facts. You know it is true, and it would be not in keeping with your general stance to stand up against extremely powerful interests.

    1. Firstly, don't try to divert the issue from the violence on the streets today. Are you justifying these acts of uncontrolled violence by these "youths"? Are you than advocating the mob mentality of these "youths" that is endangering the public, not to mention the commercial activities of people who are working hard to earn a living? What do you think is the economic impact on those traders and shopowners on the streets affected by the rioters? What about the Sunday that should be good for business, instead becomes cleaning up day in the aftermath of a madness incited by selfish, self-centred, self-absorbed "youths"?

Secondly, what facts? You are just presenting your own unsubstantiated opinions as "facts".

Eh mangkok pundek! Apalah bodoh sangat kau ni cuba mempertahankan mob mentality gulungan yellow fever ni? BN has won and lost elections, no sweat and no qualm.
Just because the opposition has won many seats in the PRU 2008, their heads are clouded that there can be no other result other than the total defeat of BN. It can clearly be seen that after 2008, a systematic attack on the BN/UMNO has been made on a daily basis that anything the government of the day wishes to implement is denounced as corrupt and unjust.
And another thing, you mentioned the car skidded and UNCOMFIRM report of one death! Typical culture of perpetuating lies!

You hardly see policemen in riot gear..they were just wearing their police berets which meant that they were expecting a peaceful demonstration as promised by the devil herself Ambiga.

My point is that you are now seeing the Malay youth rebelling against a Government, much the same way of the London riots. Those who jumped on the police car and started hitting, did so not because they wanted free elections but because they just wanted violence.

I believe there are three options. I am quite neutral on all the Options, and do not want this to be seen as favouring one political party above another. I have gone on record as saying the best alternative is for BN to fire Najib, replace him with his Deputy and bring Dr Mahathir back into the Government. But whether you vote Najib, or you vote Ambiga, its up to you. Does not affect me one bit.

Option 1: Ban Bersih, throw Ambiga into jail, and establish a totalitarian state.

Benefit: Will be fewer peaceful rallies. Traders will have less to worry about. Cronies will be able to breathe easier.

Drawback: Risk of an outbreak of violent demonstration

Option 2: Sack Najib, dismiss Rosmah, bring back Dr Mahathir

Benefit: Have a functioning Government without the massive corruption made by Najib and Rosmah

Drawback: Opposition will be against this proposal

Option 3: Vote Pakatan Rakyat at next General Election

Benefit: Najib and Rosmah are removed from power
Drawback: Ketuanan Melayu comes to an end.

Sadden to see this.. THIS video shows more of what happened compared to the others...

FIRSTLY, everyone should calm down, stop speculating and search for what really went down.

#1 Protestors shouldn't be throwing anything at anyone or anything! Shame on those who did so. Shame on those that brought a bad name to a day that was supposed to be peaceful and for a proper cause- clean and fair elections.

#2 Driver DID NOT look injured before getting bashed by some people. Is he a policeman at all? why was he wearing tshirt and shorts? and why wear crash helmet in a car??? why did he veer off road? and from video, it looks like he did hit protestors taking a rest.

#3 Bashers that bashed the driver weren't wearing the official yellow BERSIH shirt! in fact, those wearing the official looking ones were protecting the second man in the car from being bashed! so, bashers could've been out for the day to see what's going on... join in on the 'fun' and felt mad when they perceived policemen rammed into bystanders... those who werent there won't know what really happen unless there's a footage that shows head to tail.

#4 Car was overturned because apparently there were people UNDER the car! Not because protestors were angry as it seems to be reported over and over again!

    1. #1 They were not protesters, they were rioters, mobsters, monsters - they were incited to commit foul deeds on the police - listen to the "polis sial", "polis babi", "terbalikan, terbalikan" as shouted by the person carrying the camera for malaysiakini.tv - that voice did not change in terms of volume as the person carrying the camera ran away from the incident

#2 The person with the helmet was not the driver, that was someone who stopped to see whether the policemen in the car needed help, he was bashed up too

#3 Stop making such pathetic excuses to justify your support for abominable acts of violence on another human being.

#4 Don't be stupid, if there were people under the car, they would have been flattened and blood would have been everywhere - and you are talking about people here, i.e. more than one person under the car - how unreal can you get?

  6. I read in a FB page by pro mobsters saying how Malaysian they felt during their so-called peaceful gathering. No religion, no race, no color .. all as one, greeting each other. Like Malaysians. What a pile of horse manure. Malaysians have always been one until the the satan appeared in the form of AI. My question to these lunatic idiots is, did you ass-shits beat the helpless policemen together? So was it Malaysian when these mobsters resorted to throwing objects at the police car and then beat the hell of the policeman. Wow - you just gave a new definition to being a Malaysian. And now you try to paint yourselves, the idiotic kaki samseng mobsters as "victims"? Well, people like...the silent majority have had enough. You have not shown any maturity to rule a country less a kampung. Come election day, I pray we send you back mobsters back where you belong. To the zoo where you belong.

  7. The BERSIH Movement was suppose to be a peaceful protest for free & fair election for us Malaysians but i guess nobody truly understand the whole big picture. Instead, they would rather paint the picture of Malaysia as a hooligan country to everybody in the world. ITs sad that some people still havent wake up to the fact that there are games being played by certain political people since the Next general election is coming and this BERSIH movement problems was their ace in the cards. SO My question is, DO YOU WANT leaders of these HOOLIGANS TO LEAD AND FORM OUR NEXT GOVERNMENT? Instead of calling Malaysia, maybe we should change it to Hooligansia. Or just change our slogan to Malaysia, Truly Stupid Asian....

  9. BigCat,

The police car "did" ran into the protesters. It happened in mere seconds and the protesters couldn't have known that the policemen is already injured. Someone could have been killed or seriously injured by the car. Lets not forget that the life of ordinary civilian is valuable as well. From what I see, its the yellow shirt protester who save the policeman despite what you indicated.

I think if you want to find fault, it is those who threw the bottles that caused the whole mess.

Now, If you got ten of thousand of people gathered, there is bound to be idiots and lunatic in the group. These people are the one that cause trouble, the vast majority of the protesters act properly.

After bersih 2.0, because of the large number of tunrouts, there should have been proper discussion between the organizer and the government on the proper venue of the assembly. There should not be a last minute decision on this.

From what is shown lately, the two most senior executive of EC is the member of UMNO, seriously,..... and you expect people to accept that the EC is impartial? please take a reality pill.....

    1. So, the people who are responsible for this whole nonsense cannot anticipate that if they gathered thousands of people these sorts of things will not happened? The ones who started the riot was the Pas' Unit Amal members who were supposed to maintain security. They are the one who charged the barricades at Dataran Merdeka prompting police to fire tear gas and water cannon. As for the beaten up policemen, watch the video carefully and you can see one of the rioters hitting the policeman who was driving the car with the cone as he sit injured in the car. Swallow that as your reality pill.

    4. Well, so the people govern the country cannot anticipate that there will thousand of turnouts thus should provide or grant a proper venue like Dataran Merdeka or Stadium Merdeka rather then letting people get crowded all over the place.

This had happened twice already. They should have known better.

About the guy with the cone....well what about the protesters who nearly got run over by the car. People nearly got killed by the car, they probably thought that the police is trying to run over them.

Watch the video carefully and you will see that the yellow shirt protesters take the policeman out of the car and out of harms way.

About the head of EC a member of UMNO that was in the news lately, it is like the referee of the world come, Germany vs Spain but the referee is from Spain. Makes no sense to me nor to anyone which is not insane.

    5. The stadiums had been offered to them. You can't remember that? As for the police car, you are blind or what? They throw objects at it without any provocation causing the policeman to lose control of the vehicle. Still want to spin is it? The two goons you said came to the rescue actually dragged the injured policeman away before beating him up. There were pictures of that.

  10. The stadium offered last minute...why cannot decide earlier?. Don't they know thousand will come like 2.0. Of course they know.

No spinning from me, I'll leave that to the newspaper and blogs. You can see for yourself in todays newspaper.

Put the picture up where the goons beat the policeman.

Like I said earlier, if you want to find fault, then blame those who threw the bottles. They are the one who started the mess. Once the police car ran into the the crowd then all hell break lose.

They will always be hooligans and lunatic in a crowd that big, that is why there should be a proper place for the assembly. Why dont they just let them gather at one place (in the beginning), they scream their lungs out then they go home. This should not had happened.

I hope the news of the policeman is not true and he is ok.

    1. The stadiums offered last minute? Get real, ok? Ambiga rejected the stadiums days ahead. You are just trying to find excuses for the violence committed by the rioters, who are clearly there because of the organisers refusal to compromise with the authorities.

      Delete
    2. BigCat,

Now why Ambiga would reject Stadium Merdeka? Bersih 3.0 was announced weeks before, stadium was offered 2 days before (from what I have read).

Don't the authority have enough facts to make a decision much earlier? The fact that there will thousand of people crowding the road?

There should have make the decision weeks ago, then all this would not have happened.

I do not think that the organizers refused to compromise, if the option of Stadium merdeka was on the table much earlier, I think they would have taken it instead of going to the street.

If you remember Bersih 2.0, Bersih did announced that they want Stadium Merdeka but at the end of the day you know what happened.

I still cannot find the picture where you mentioned the yellow shirt protester who rescue the police man suddenly make a 180 degree turn then beat up the policeman.

  11. Most of the answers here bar few are selective. Those who support either the demonstrators or the police decide only to point out clips/videos/news beneficial to them. Such huge turnout of people will eventually lead to unnecessary events. Things will go out of control, either due to agent provocateurs or plain stupid control handling evidenced happening at both camps. The government instead of choosing to highlight or whitewash events should thoroughly do a post-mortem on the events unfolding and all perpetrators whether demonstrators or security personnel that crossed the law should be brought to court and sentenced accordingly. Concerted attacks on journalists and media personnel should be addressed immediately by the authorities (there are too many blogs repeating it for us to take it as opposition propaganda). Do this and BN comes out clean. My two cents worth, for all the double speak and claims of righteousness, in this case it is BERSIH 1 Govt 0

    1. This has got nothing to do with BN, it is all about Pakatan trying to undermine the civil service, defying law & order, demonising the police. It is all about the Pakatan and their web of lies, misinformation and rumour-mongering. All these while we have been fed with Pakatan propaganda. Your very comment here is full of innuendos that try to cast those trying to uphold the law as the perpetrators of violence. I am sure you are also part of the propaganda machinery that is trying to undermine the police in the eyes of the public. I now know how you people twist the "news" to suit your spin, don't think you can keep on fooling us.

      Delete
    2. Whether it is Pakatan undermining the civil service or not, neither are we talking about twisting of news. Both sides will twist news to their benefit. This is the nature of things. However, take note that BN is the current ruling government and thus it becomes their duty as sitting government to answer for anything that happens. The answer can be 1) bring to court all perpetrators to face the full might of the country's laws or 2) give out empty handed statements extolling certain events and parties. You can't have it both ways. It is all about perception of the public and as far as the government is concerned it is a Catch 22 situation no matter what action or measure taken.

      Delete
    3. Compared to the Pakatan state administrations, the BN government has displayed extreme tolerance and caution when dealing with the public. We can actually make a comparison, and BN seems to be the better option. With the events leading up to 28/4 and the subsequent outcome of it, I doubt that the majority would entrust the running of the country to these Pakatan loons and their goons.
