The Opposition types accused me of being racist in that posting, I was more or less told to grow up and to move on, and some diverted it to somehow make it into an Umno treachery against Ghani and a Ghani treachery against the Malays.
But the majority of the comments reflected that Mimi and I were not alone.
For the past months ever since I started writing here regularly, I have been called the most degrading things, insulted in so many personal ways, with comments that are full of incoherent hatred against Umno/BN without a single statement from the Opposition types that showed any kind of restraint or maturity.
And yet, with the continuous attacks, unabated even after the conclusion of GE13, isn't it really strange that people like me are not expected to be affected by the continuous heapings of scorn and derision, most of it personal in nature?
I especially couldn't stand the snide remarks being made against government servants, the police, and the country, some disguised as jokes. It was seriously unfunny to me. It wasn't just the politicians that they hated, it was everyone associated with the government. They also saw nothing wrong with their degrading remarks about the Malays, the Indians and especially the Mamaks.
The worst part of the Opposition propaganda machinery is their total rejection of differing opinions and values, a totalitarian ideology, feeding off emotions and perceptions, as opposed to logic and reasoning, one that will resort to name-calling and diversionary hate-filled rantings if met with resistance it couldn't neutralise.
It reflects a shared worldview that is fueled by their high opinion of themselves, while differing opinions and values are not worthy of their respect, hence, game for abuse and derision. Whereas they expect everyone to give them complete, unrestrained freedom to express themselves however they wish to vent their hatred and anger, they will not tolerate anyone else to have differing views and opinions.
These bullies are supposed to be the educated middle-class urbanites, and yet they displayed a complete lack of breeding, devoid of rational consideration for others and severely in need of self-reflection.
I find them and their types distasteful in the extreme, that I am glad I have been labelled by them as low class (can't help but wonder if there is an inferred uneducated kampung bumpkin in that label too), because I would hate to be considered in the same class as them, middle-class urbanites.
Besides, I have greater affinity with the kampung folks in rural Johor, the much derided supposedly uneducated non-urbanites, than I have had with many of my so-called middle-class acquaintances that I used to hang out with.
The Opposition Pact share two things in common, extremism and a single common enemy. They used whatever means to destroy this common enemy. Whatever differences they might have are no longer important. It is a commonality based on hatred for Umno, the object of their destructive effort all these while, everything else is considered collateral damage.
Many urban Malays are with you Tinsel. Keep on writing. We may not be as vocal and biadap as "high class" people but we are there judging their every actions.ReplyDelete
I think in their herd mentality they forgot Newton's theory that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
We will adjust our actions accordingly. Most of us will start with our purchasing pattern.
It is good to understand the thinking of Chinese and DAP. UMNO has to learn and learn quick. It is honourable to stand up and fight.ReplyDelete
I broke with Pakatan after supporting them initially because I thought they would bring in a breath of fresh air. Alas, like many others, I have observed that Pakatan, especially being led by a certain Brother, is just more of the same, only worse in some aspects, sowing blind hatred amongst their followers to cover up their deficiencies.ReplyDelete
People say Pakatan state governments are administered better than the BN's. The track record in the first 2 years sure looks rosy. But towards end of 2010 it was beginning to become obvious that their so-called good record in bringing in funding, lowering poverty etc was actually nothing more than residual results of the prior BN governments' efforts and coupled with current Federal help (because Federal never really abandons the Oppo states to their own).
After 5 years they still fail to fight based on their own merit. They don't uphold the libertarian values they like to bleat about. They're full of bullshit.
Yes, That what I fee too. I broke up with them after seeing what happen to my mother. You see, I live in seremban but my mom live in selangor. I saw what happen in selangor. I thank God NS is still under BN but sad when thinking my mother will have to leave under PR again.Delete
If they say that things getting better after PR taking over, b*******. It deporable and getting worst. It starting by the end of 2010.
At some places, nothing change actually but becouse at that area there a few of exco or PR representative leave there, The service continue. People talk about those extra service which existing before but ignore it. Now they said it existing after PR taking over. what a *******. Hello, before this, are you sleeping.
While at others places, well it in the bad shape. But I trust the karma. The circle will come around. The state money is dwindling and by end of 2015 or 2016 the coffer will start drying out. People willl feel it step by step.
The saddest things is, the first one who feel it will be the lower income group. Then the middle and all the urbanite. When this happen, they will crying and whinning and do all sort of things to get attention. They will want goverment to take care of them. That time they might consider their PR representative to help them.
I think Trengganu MB got it right. Lets them ask their YB then. After all, it is them who vote those YB right? It time those YB start doing their jobs. They has been paid by our tax money (Red bean Army love to use this tax things, and now it's my turn). I'm a tax payer, so a YB regardless of what parties they represent must work for their salary right.
ps: I can hear what their YB answer will be when they asking for somethings, "We not getting enough fun from faderal goverment. If you want us to help, vote us this coming GE14 to take over faderal goverment. Than we help you". and this coming from PR representative from Selangor, the richest state in Malaysia.
My sister lives in Selangor too, and her voice shook with tears when she called to tell me that PR won in Selangor.Delete
Well you can expect more ragut or beg snatchers in Selangor. The chinese think they can steal from the Malays with chinese contractors and developers and hide in their gated homes.Delete
But the moment they leave the house there will be beg snatchers just waiting to steal their ill gotten wealth...muahahaha..
Take a thief to steal from a thief..
A person of good breeding would never, ever refer to another person as "low-class". Only those who are ill-brought up does. And in the category of ill-brought up are:ReplyDelete

What is funny is, my dear hubby is a white man. So, many of these PR supporters assume that he is with them. They think that since they see themselves as high class and educated like the white man, the white man must support them too. ridiculous! He always laughs when he relates stories of how shocked they get when he tells them that he is all for BN! And for every argument they throw at him criticizing BN, he will defend the government like mad...much to their chagrin. Kelakar! The funny part is, post PRU13, he has become an ultra-Malay, buying Utusan on a daily basis and proudly carrying it wherever he goes. Hilarious!!! He thinks that there is no where in the world you can find a group of people more tolerant than the Malays and he is appalled at the lack of respect that kaum tertentu has towards the generosity shown by the Malays. They could have ended up like the Rohingyas, but lucky for them, they did not! And still, tak sedar diri.ReplyDelete
Ps/- He hates Ambiga to the core, thinks she is the ultimate hypocrite claiming to be neutral when it is so obvious she is not! And he can't stand Hannah Yeoh.! He thinks she is horribly self-righteous, small-minded and petty, and he pities her husband to have to live with a smarty-pants woman like her. Wow! Like I said, HILARIOUS!!!!
Well yes, my sister's neighbor is married to a Lebanese, and I tell you, that fellow is such an ultra, he would put the Perkasa folks to shame.Delete
It is really sad.. about the chinese. They were coolies when they came to Malaya. But chinese and indian like Hannah Yeoh shows that you cannot buy class.Delete
The Chinese are so obsessed with being accepted by the mat salleh, the minute they have a baby they put a William or cigarette name like Kingston for the poor chinese baby. Presto a chinese couple produced a mat salleh baby!
I think unknowingly you put your finger why they hate the Malays. They think they are europeans haha complete with their colonising Jesuit priests. They are completely out of step with the modern western world views where natives are appreciated and the mat salleh wants to atone for the Catholics evil of yesteryears.
I had this discussion with a wise(???) friend today.
This coming GE teach me something? she said. I ask her what? She said, if we women want to take over this country, let those man aka boyz fight about everythings and we women just sit down with a popcorn. When they busy fighting, they will never realize it is us women slowly taking over this country.
I ask her, how do you come to this ideas?
Well, she said. Every 4 to 5 years this man fighting about different ideology and a lot of man joint them in this political pools. It up to us women to fill in the voit leaving by those man during this time.
So? I ask again. With a smile she said, We women start taking over girlz. Look at our school system. If 20 years ago you cannot imagine a headmistress on schools, now it a common accurances. Look at engineering couses. Last 10 years it exclusive for man, now women start to make a headway. Only few courses was unevailable to us womens now days. Trust me, coming 3 or 4 GE we will taking over.
With a small laugh I ask her, you so sure with this outcome. Dare to give me the data? With a laught she said, No need data mah. Who ever win we will get our way. Look at this way, If PR win, we women win. Free education for all or abolish merit we women will continue taking over those U or college. Why? Even with free education, every boys would rather hanging around than study. A lot of Girlz choose studies. Without merit?, look at the result at SK or SKJ. Look at the result of those girls vs boys. Girlz result is batter than boy.
We will taking over. BN only manage to slow us down girlz. They try with merit, but we still poking hole to get thru. Now, even with merit, girlz still trying to get into U by fulfill in the merit up to 100%. I think those political parties fighting the wrong issues. They suppose to fight a schoolarship for boys, reduce a places for girlz, only girlz with 8A1 can go to university and etc..etc...
How about economy? Well, after taking over all education system, students, teacher, instructer and all, what do you think will happen? Women will push for women representative in every negotialbe. So, Every industries will have womens as a leader. We will control economy and when we have those too than we taking over the political parties. Some will evaluate to womens parties and then those guys will realize that they wish for two parties was fulfill. Women party vs man party. 1st GE with this system, we women will win. Why? women tend to register as voter than man.
And I said, Gosh, your logic is scary girlz....She just laught. Yes, that the future I predict mah... So, who do you vote? She said BN mah... I ask her why? She said, smart women know, slow is batter than fast. PR is a fast way and we cannot mature and getting wiser if we going in a fast way. You need to walk. And BN is the best way to gating mature and wiser. After all, we must make sure they never know our plan right?? hahaha
ps : come to think of it, there a logic on her upside down thinking....
There was a previous posting in here about setting a Women only political party. Ai, Annie and I actually had discussed the matter, jokingly of course about that possibility. :DDelete
As much as I want to agree with you Tinsel, as one of the minority Chinese who is pro-BN, I beg to differ. As a Chinese myself, I get smacked left, right, center, front from all my DAP supporter "friends" on FB. And trust me, it just get worse and hurtful as time passes even if you're not posting anything political, cuz these group of garbages just has a way of twisting every single nice words to become crap. In a rational point of view, I understand your frustration as a Malay. Yes, you're very lucky to have your fellow Malays to support and cheer you on. People like me are most probably dissed in every ways regardless where I stand. Yes, racism will never go away. But that doesn't mean that any being with yellow skin means all Chinese are the same. Now, that is being a racist. That's how I view it from a 3rd party point of view. I understand that you have your frustrations and anger but pls, this is an open blog. I love what you write, but pls don't forget the minority as well. Thanks.ReplyDelete
My apologies to you and others who feel the same way as you. I never meant to alienate rational people like yourself. Thank you for understanding my frustration.Delete
I understand your feeling and you are not alone. My chinese insurance agent called me early Monday morning after polling day to share the election results. I told him I am quite sad (but stopped short of giving him a reason because I was not sure of his political view) and his response made me smile. He said, "I am so sorry that I really prayed for BN to win." Imagine he said that after PM called the chinese ungrateful.
We know there are 5%-10% of the Chinese who still believe in Barisan. I only know one, thankfully he is my insurance agent. Only if we, or at least I, know how to reach them. In fact almost all my friends, colleague and people I socialize with (all races) are pro-oppositions. It is a lonely place to be broadminded these days but you know what, we will persevere.
I'm sorry, I don't know your insurance agent but really, I'll bet all Chinese insurance agents in Malaysia today would say they prayed for BN to win, too. So would the majority of Chinese businesses. Heck, the Chinese Chambers of Commerce have made a statement saying they support Najib.Delete
So... Who. The. Fuck. Were the 97% Chinese who voted PR in GE13?
Just Buy Chinese Last. Support the campaign, send them a message they will not soon forget. It's the only way to keep them in line. Otherwise they will be back to their old tricks in no time. Melayu ni, asal Cina quote ayat Quran dua tiga patah, dah suka sampai terkencing-kencing dalam seluar. That's what Lee Kuan Yew did, and he got a whole island for it. Let's not make the same mistake, shall we.
It is a syndrom of those with superiority complex but subtly rant that they are discriminated and marginalized lot.Now in the aftermath of PRU 13 they are ashamed to declare that they voted DAP, almost 90% of them.
Anybody who accuses as such are racists while they are not. They say that they are Malaysians. So ok, 90% of Malaysian Chinese voted for DAP ( never in the history of elections in Malaya/Malaysia that MCA loses it deposits!). Anything wrong with that statement?
So it is only natural for UMNO to think that their survival in future PRU depends entirely on Malay and pribumi voters. Is that so wrong?
Thay have made a unison statement in the recent election and it is being reinforced further after the elections with rallies and wearing black t-shirts, but only in towns and cities representing their demographic lot. Any plans to hold these rallies in kampungs?
Seriously, the reason why people like me can't move on is because they keep carrying on with these stupidities of disputing the GE results. They ask us to accept Chinese rejection of BN, but they cannot accept the fact that there is a substantial portion of Malays and Bumiputra who rejected them.Delete
Sorry Bigcat, I have to disagree with you there. The Chinese are not the ones whipping up the flames of dissatisfaction over the GE results - it's really PKR (principally the Brother) and ABU. My neighbors, etc have accepted the outcome and feel that we should move on with life. On the other hand you have UMNO and their cohort running wild too with all kinds of racists statements as well, and we know that this is due to the upcoming UMNO elections as the various factions are now blaming each other. It's not just Chinese rejection of BN my dear; in the cities many Malays, Indians and Others also rejected the idea of BN. If only Najib had really worked on his cabinet members and had not retained so many of sleeping PMs people we may have seen a very different outcome for GE13. I suggest you read Big Dog for a better take on the situation.Delete
Ramayana, your angst is too great to be real. I therefore conclude that you are one of the blue bottle flies as opposed to the red bean army both of whom I abhor. Obviously you cant or wont look at things objectively. 70-80% of the audience in Kelana Jaya was Cina? You are really a joker. My observation was that the Cina and Melayu kids were about equal. Can't comment on areas like Penang and Ipoh as I wasn't there. Don't just spin; it's not becomingDelete
Election over lah? The purchasing boycott is a waste of time. Why? Lets count the reasons, 1. Its not focused. How to boycott businesses that form 80% of the economy? 2. Who owns the business - if you boycott based on the cashier, does this represent the owner? 3. Who is the business buying from? If the business you support buys from Chinese then who is winning? 4. Do you really think that punishing some small businesses owned and run by Chinese will change the way they vote, or will it entrench their views instead? This campaign is destructive because their community needs to be won over, not made to feel marginalized. Those that support it are, consciously or not, forming a hardened core of non-BN support before GE14. BN has a 46 seat majority, if it loses 24 seats in GE14 it loses the election. With 45 seats held by non-UMNO parties in the Barisan, why are supposedly UMNO-supporters trying to further alienate their communities? Do they want UMNO out? This foolish boycott is a child's temper tantrum that will cause lasting damage to the BN.ReplyDelete
It is just a conscious effort to suppport Bumiputra businesses. If Bumiputra do not support their own business community, who would?Delete
The question now is, why do you afraid of this boycott? Why do you want us to forget this BBC and BCL? If it didn't effect chinese community, why do you acting like cacing kepanasan? All the chinese are rich peoples right? Soo let those who want to BBC and BCL do their things and you do your things. It doesn't effect none to you at all..Let them be. It their money and it their choices.Delete
Forget all the ifs and buts...BCL is on. The Malay mass is going to buy Chinese last, preference for Muslim/Halal produce and products and services. We are not worried about losing any seats and we have seen how DAP and the Chinese have tried to max it and I can bet your bottom dollar that there will be more Malays who will be backing BN come GE14.Delete
We have seen how the Chinese betrayed our nation fragile relationship and going for so called Chinese superiority. In a way I am glad it happened as now we can all come out with guns ablazing. We will shove it to your face and be proud to be called a racist and the Malays will now not hold back. We learnt from the Chinese on how to ridicule others. Namewee is a good teacher and so too stepping on pics of leaders. We will be kurang ajar with the Chinese, just as they have taught some Malays on how to bribe, be bribed and be corrupted.
And for sure we don't care how the Chinese voted or will vote. GE13 has taken that out of the equation. Eventually, the Chinese will be Persona Non Grata in the eyes of the Malays/ Bumiputras and maybe some Indians. And when we do what you did all these years, especially the last 5 years, don't come crying and say we are racists or unconstitutional. Heck, the Chinese were given more than what is provided for in our Constitution.....and we may see bridges burnt between the Chinese and other races.....Malays may have lost now, but along the way to GE14, more Chinese will be wounded and that one Chinese shop in my Taman will surely feel it. And it may be repeated in other Tamans in the country.
Can we have a list of companies/products we should be boycotting?Delete
BC - Don't imagine that a campaign started as a backlash to the election result can be sanitized to a support bumis moment - everyone knows the two are connected and will see its outcome in that light.Delete
Sarah - I am concerned that this idea/movement will further erode BN support and make further losses in GE14 a certainty, perhaps even severely damage the seats now held in East Malaysia.
Anon 23.38 - the BN is all about representing all Malaysians. It has in the past and it can again, but not if Ultras like you want to blow the BN to pieces. It is a fact that there are different constituencies but if BN ignores urban areas and minorities it is left to fight over the Malay vote with PAS and PKR - one targets the religious, one the liberal/urban classes. If you only compete for 60% of voters, how long before the opposition can pry away just 10% to get victory? Not long. I therefore consider that you are really working for the opposition, trying to stop the BN from being able to compete for these votes in the future.
Pull the other one.Delete
Buy Chinese Last. Teach them a lesson they won't soon forget. 97% Chinese voted PR in the last election. THAT is a lesson Malays will not soon forget.
yeah, let's boycott AirAsia....let's boycott Robert Kuok's companies....let's boycott all the DVD sellers....let's boycott all the massage parlours.Delete

A point to note is that those words could well relate to the UMNO people too based on all that I've read in the newspapers like Utusan and online.
When you allow utusan to spew racial hatred, it's called freedom of speech. When we use social networks to criticise a particular race, it's called racial abuse. When we ask where is the transparency, the PM IGNORES us. He just sidesteps the issues of corruption, transparency and accountability. So to many of us "rakyat di dahulukan" is just someone's wet dream.ReplyDelete

Only the blue bottle flies think so.
Buy Chinese last ? Where did you people learn your economics ? Under the rambutan tree ? If anything, the Chinese have learnt to bypass the system that is set up to marginalise it. In simple terms, the Chinese businesses don't rely on the average Melayu to survive. Many Chinese businesses have silent melayu partners and that includes all the haram businesses. Who do you think will suffer ?ReplyDelete
My business has a 45 pct malay partner. He puts in real cash. The funny thing is our customers are 85 pct Chinese. So you rambutan economists have me quaking in my boots as I am defined as a Chinese business.
Yeah yeah yeah. We'll see soon enough if you're talking the truth or just bullshit. It's okay, friend, keep on talking. The more your arrogance shows, the more hatred the Malays will feel, and the more successful the Buy Chinese Last is going to be.Delete
It's already working, don't you know? Why else do you think Chinese Chambers of Commerce berduyun-duyun come out saying they support Najib? Too bad you've already taught us to be smarter than that.
