The Questions I Must Find Answers to

The one thing I have learned these past few days of "entertaining" visitors to this blog is that how exhausting it is trying to drum the same thing over and over again through thick skulls that seem to have been "sense-proofed" so well that I got bored with the repetitive denseness.

On the one hand we have the super blinkered various opposition cult members, and on the other is the Malay supremacist hell-bent on cleansing Malaysia of "foreign" DNA not deemed pure enough to be considered as part of the Malay ethnic group.

And I can't seem to get through to either.

It is so sad that we have reached a point where some of our citizens, whom I assume to  be young and have better educational opportunities than their parents, are so locked in their respective self-pity and imagined insults that they can't move forward in their thinking and attitude, and are ripe for exploitation by unscrupulous politicians.

Is it so wrong for a person to support the ideals of Umno and be a member of a party that was formed based on unity and solidarity of the children of the land, that more than 3 million Malaysian citizens are liberally labeled with the same brush?  Are the non-Umnos so pure and clean of wrongdoings?

Does it really matter if I am not a pure 100% Malay?  So what if I am a mongrel, with Javanese, Indian, Dutch and Chinese blood?

I am a Muslim and speak fluent Bahasa Melayu.  I love and practice the Malay culture. I even choreographed Malay dances when I was in boarding school and formed a traditional Malay dance troupe with other Malay girls while I was studying in the US.  I remember proudly performing in front of the mostly white audiences in the American red-neck Midwest, showing off our beautiful gamelan, the lively joget, and the intricate steps of zapin.  I even wore the baju kurung and kebaya in the dead of winter when I was working in London.   To this day, I hand-stitch my own baju kurung the traditional way.

And even if I am not a Malay, does it really matter?  Should I be kicked out of Malaysia for not having a drop of Malay blood or a trace of Malay DNA?  If I am not accepted in this blessed land for not being a 100% pure, DNA-wise, daughter of the land, despite my love for my country, my language, and my culture, pray tell me where should I give my heart and loyalty to?   Where do I belong?

I left my job in the UK the moment I got a job offer in Malaysia, not because it was better paying because it wasn't, but because I wanted to live here, tanah tumpah darah ku, and be with my people, to give my bit to its glory.  Was I wrong?

It is so heart wrenching, your outpouring of love for Malaya. You are definitely a Malay by your own admission. Such love for the bangsa and country is hard to come by. So glad you understand Tee, Cat Steven and Arroyo are not Malay in the context of Malaya.

This is what true Malaysian should be. A Malay first. When you perform as a student it was your natural affinity to align as a malay. But these feelings of malayness of Tanah Melayu are slowly being eroded. How? by the slimy racists migrants who cling to the culture and the language of their motherland. Citizenship of Tanah Melayu does not come free or obligation or standard of requirement. To be an american you have to love english, their way of life and swear allegiance to their flag.

The citizenship to the Chinese and Indians are not by natural human rights but by the mistaken kindness of Tunku. Even after hundreds of years the Rokhane in Myanmar are not recognises as Myanmar. They have no rights to be citizens as Brunei have done not recognise them as citizens.

Pitiful as your plea is it is not as pitiful as the cry of the beloved country Tanah Melayu itself that has been raped of its beautiful rainforests by greedy migrants citizens whenever possible. It is not as pitiful as the plight of the natives Malays who are reduced to beggars in their own country by the leader of UMNO, itself an organisation which was build on the hopes of the Malays, who was an ungrateful son of a migrant from India. It took the exposure by a foreign Forbes company to expose that the Chinese and Indians have accumulated assest worth 400 billions which is even more than Malaysia foreign reserve!

Your love for the Malays is touching indeed and you did not capitalised on it so that any policy purportedly under NEP was a tool to enriched migrants and their sons who also claim to be Malays. That the Malays fought and burned down KL to keep Malaya Malays was for nought. More than 30 years after May 13, the Malays are beggars in their own country.

As if rainforests the natural resource is not bad enough, your heart will bleed if you know that frequencies, satellite, sand and oil and gas are being given out to enrich the migrants citizens.

If that is not pitiful and heart wrenching then I don’t know what is. Cry the beloved country for those scum who has betrayed you.

Malaysia is not multiracial. The Malays have given citizenship to Chinese and Indian labourers. But they have not abrogated their malayness. Long live the Agung! The Chinese and indians must swear allegiance to our Malay Agung!

    3. I have no problems swearing allegiance to the country, to the flag & to the monarch. But what I abhor is that some, on the basis of race thinks it gives them a free hall pass to insult other races that makes Malaysia the unique country that she is.

So please stuff your incendiary propagand about immigrants as I paid my dues to this country by serving it, as has my parents, in the security services. I've attended too many funerals in churches, temples & at mosques where a flag is draped on the coffin & the Last Post is played.

In fact, given a chance, I would be more than happy to shoot the likes of you, Ibrahim Ali, Ridhuan Tee, Tian Chua, Lim Guan Eng et al for being bigots. Then you can all rot in the same liang lahad finally doing something useful by being a part of the food chain.

That would be as big a service one can give to this great country of mine without sacrificing one's mortality.

Your latest posting really touched my heart, eyes slightly moist. Way to go girl. Patriotism at its best.Being a patriotic Malaysian does not need to identify oneself with agama, bangsa color or creed. Malaysia being multi racial, multi cultural needs to stand united . Syabas BIGCAT.

    6. Anons, I don't give a hoot about your speculations about my ugly face, the presumed dark color of my skin, or whatever else about my physical self that you may want to describe in what you might consider as insulting descriptions. Beauty is subjective, beauty is fleeting, and in my book, a person's worth is not measured by his/her looks. I don't have to prove anything to anyone, as I value my heritage and revere all my ancestors equally. This will be the last time I will write about my ancestry as I will not allow their memory to be sullied by the bigotry displayed here in this particular comment thread.

You can talk & talk & talk but as with most numbskulls, the only way to get into their cranium is to drill right through.

And the best part would be their trite , recycled & "intelligent" insults in with which they use to run you down only for them to run off with their tails firmly superglued somewhere between their anal crevice & reproductive organ when they get the inevitable retort.

Btw, your balance between being reasonable & catty when handling them hate mongers is most welcome & make enjoyable read. Hope you have a good weekend.

Blood and DNA does not matter , but what matter most how ones blends themselves if they say that, they take this country seriously, without divided attitude ,'dimana bumi dipijak disitu langit dijunjung' ,but the reality does not appeared. SRJK is one example where blood matter most to them where they still shows that 'birds of same fathers flock together' forgetting where they flocking .

  10. I am stupid and there are many clever ones and please explain how do loving malay culture and speak the language equate being patriotc? If a matsalleh does the same, is he patriotic too and not patriotic if he loves Iban/Dayak culture and language?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I only presume Im the clever one to answer your confusion. There really is no confusion. The Federated Malay States consist of the nine Malay States. The Christian Europeans starting with the Catholics Portuguese attacked Melaka and destroying the Melaka Sultanate in search of gold and spice and spreading the Kingdom of Jesus. Then they were beaten by other european monarchies and they were replaced by the Dutch. then the Dutch Catholic Monarchy agreed with the anglican Monarchy of England to claim the world according to north and South line. Thus the Dutch attack Indonesia while the English attack Malaya.
So it is that simple. This is the Land of the Malays. The British forced the sultans to accept the Chinese and Indian labourers as citizens. but this was not valid as it was under duress. What is there to be confused about? If the MatSalleh loves Iban/Kadzan/Dayak culture and language then good for him. But to be a Malaysian he must want to be well versed in Malay, swear allegiance to the Malay King and obey the laws of the land. The Malays love their language and the culture and are building a Malay ecosystems just like Japan or China or Korea or Indonesia. The Mat Salleh who love Japanese or Russian culture and language would be better off if he move to Russia or Japan so that he can enjoy Japanese/Russian culture to the full. What is the logic of staying in Malaya while loving japanese/Russian culture? To annoy the Malays? The fact that the Mat Salleh must swear allegiance to the Malay King, is reason enough for him to accept the Malay way of life penuh Kesopanan dan kesusilaan. No you are not stupid just leaderless thats all.

  11. Ah, Tinsel. I see that you're discovering first hand the two rigours of blogging, firstly being the hypocrisy of the extreme left and peningness of the extreme right, and secondly the need to repeat points you were sure had been hammered home ages ago.

My earlier advice to pace yourself was exactly due to there being so many dead horses to beat in this game. But you're obviously a bright one, so this should not be much of a problem.

Anyway, I am suddenly reminded of the past. I once had a crush on a Spanish-Malay-Japanese-Chinese-Kadazan girl. She was the first girl I had the guts to call and just chat with over the phone. Ahh, those innocent times.

    Take care.

  13. Patriotism does not mean we must support UMNO or being a Malay. Patriotism means we want the better for our country. We oppose UMNO because it is a racist and corrupted party. We love our country so we intent to change this by voting PAS, DAP or PKR. As simple as that.

    1. In Johor, the birthplace of Umno, most of the MCA and MIC candidates who won in the last GE were candidates in Malay-majority areas. Today, in places like Gelang Patah, the Umno boys are campaigning and working on the field to gain support for the MCA candidate. That means Umno members and Malays supported Chinese and Indian candidates who are not even Umno members. Can you say the same for DAP, PAS and PKR? So who are the racists here?

  15. Dear BC2, the barbed comments about looks and personal character appear all the time. Although I don't like them, it does say something about your writing that many people will put up with this to read your views. For what its worth, I think you can and should discuss your ancestry from time to time - it has made you who you are and their struggles and sacrifices deserve to be remembered. Giving in to morons through your silence is the response of a lesser being. Better to fight. Good luck.
