Treating the Malays with disdain

I am not a hardcore Malay nationalist, not an Umno member (or any other party), and have no plan to be actively involved in Malay-based organizations.

I don't even like Malays such as Ibrahim Ali and his Perkasa gang.

However, I do care for the survival of the Malay culture and identity as well as its future as a community. I take great offence when others maliciously insulted or exploited the Malays.

I feel that the Malays as a whole have never been mean to others. Collectively, they are arguably the most docile people in the world. They never disturb others unless provoked.

Maybe due to their rather easy going attitude, the Malays are regarded by others as being less competitive, not sufficiently intelligent, and even lazy.

As it is with the ways of this world, being nice is good, but overdoing it may end up with others taking advantage and try to exploit that niceness to the maximum.

Being nice has always been interpreted by not so nice people as a sign of weakness. And weak people have always been regarded as pathetic and treated with contempt.

What happened at the DAP Congress in Penang the past two days was exactly how pathetic the Malays could be regarded by others and the contemptuous manner they were being treated should serves as a reminder of what the Malays' future could be in not that distant future.

Being a Malay, I could not help but feel sad as I watched the few Malay delegates at the DAP congress went up on stage to savage the Umno/BN government which had all these while been trying its best to look after the interests of the Malays who are still the least well off among the races in this country.

True, that government do have weaknesses and not perfect, but to accuse it of being totally evil and corrupt? As if it has totally failed this country? Is the current government that bad? Be honest la? Is our country among the worst in this world?

Maybe those Malay DAP speakers were taking the cue from DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng who in his opening speech made such accusations, alleging that Umno/BN had for 55 years been robbing the country and pushed it to the brink of bankruptcy. Probably those Malays want to prove to the other delegates that they are as DAP in spirit as the rest of them.

Well, they did get the applause from the floor. I guess, nothing is more satisfying than watching your enemy being spit upon by their own kith and kin.

But, as we all know now, when it comes to what really matter, the other DAP members only regarded those Malay DAP people as just the pathetic Malays that they are. They are only fit to be the token Malays in the party leadership.

It's the worst humiliation when two of them were appointed to the central executive committee after none of the eight who contested came even close to get elected.

It is racism, pure and simple. The Malays were reduced to filling up a quota in a party which claims itself to be multi-racial.

All those DAP's talks about "the time is ripe to discard racial politics" were just hypocrisy at its worst.

All those Malays in Pas and PKR should see all these as what awaits them if they insist on their current path. Or are they too blinded?

Actually Big Cat you are the stupid one. There are no lazy people in the world. People who you label as stupid are actually independent and smart thinkers. They dont want to kulis to the Mat salleh or the Chinese capitalists.

We Malays are the owner of Tanah Melayu say what you want. If you dont like it you can leave. Its that simple.

Are there Malays in DAP. Ariffin SM Omar is Tamil my friend. Does Malays have SM in their name? No they have Pramli, M Nasir but not SM. That is Indian origin mah.

If you read SM Omar papers he said the Malay Sultanate is illusionary, the Malays are illusionary people, the Constitution is illusionary..hehe.

Guess all the dead in May 13 are just illusions of Malay rage too.

The Malays have finally caught up with the Tamil Mahathir a/Iskandr Kutty tricks.

The so called economic targets are neo colonialists in nature. The Malays are changing their leaderships. No its not Najib, Anwar, Hadi or Mahyudin. They are perperators of keeping down the Malays under the guise of leadership. They give themselves low KPi 10% 20% and 30% like we dont know Maths. Sudahlah Mahyudin balek Johor lah.

20% untuk 70% itu maknya kemisikinan bahlol!

  2. Melayu mudah lupa, selalunya mereka lupa diri dalam kegahirahan . They never understood that blood is always ticker then water and bird's of the same fathers flock together.
When the Malay will ever learn that blood is never less important in every aspect of life ,especially when Malaysia is in reference, because of it's accidentally becoming multinational and multilingual.
Race factor will never totally erase though politically claimed by some that they are multiracial in nature and concept but they insist to keep their vernacular up bringing which resulting to total separation .
The result's of DAP congress is a good example of it, which no one can denied .

All we imputed was that if a line-up consists of Indians, Chinese and Malays, irrespective of the percentage of each race, then it is multi-racial. UMNO is not multiracial, neither are MCA and MIC. But PKR is multiracial and so is DAP. Percentages don't matter. It is your right to think that DAP is overwhelmingly Chinese and Malays are a small and inconsequential minority. However, do not think that the Chinese treat the Malays with disdain. We treat MCA and MIC with equal disdain if they steal and pillage.

For many of us, the differentiating factor amongst the Malays is whether they walk the talk, and not just come up with slogans and acronyms. Don't be hypocrites by invoking race and religion when the correct thing to do is not to steal or tell lies or rob the country blind. These are the people we treat with disdain - irrespective of race or religion.

    6. UMNO Presidents multi racists27 December 2012 at 02:16

Too many Tamils in UMNO lineup. The Tamils can be Hindu one minute, Christian, Buddhists, Muslims according to their whims. But at heart is their Tamil Brotherhood just like MIC fought for Tamils in Sri Langka.

Subahan Kamal, is Indian, Sharizat is Indian, Mahathir is Indian, Ananda KRishnan Indian, the failed SPM guy Syed Mokhtar Indian, SM Nasimuddin Indian, those KAders are Indian, sheikh kadir, Ali Hams, Srigar, Ali Abul, samsudin kadir thats how they get the licenses.

the power of google. Sheesh all these while we thought they were Malays haha..Tony Fernandes UMNO NEP, SM Nasimuddin UMNO NEP beneficiary.

The Chinese may not be UMNO lineup but they were at the Presidents house more than UMNO members. Uncle lim, Uncle Vincent, Uncle Yeoh...you get the idea. So that is why UMNO Presidents want to maintain the peaceful taokays relationship.

Just like Tamils in Sri Langka, they are now claiming to be bumiputeras tribe.

if the melayu in PAS and PKR still cannot understand the meaning already written clearly on the wall now by the DAPigs then it is really a very sad case lah.

insaf lah my islamic brothers and sisters be them in DAP, PKR or PAS before this chauvisnitic and racial breed of cinapeks befalls bala on malaysia.

  5. Yes, the current gomen is evil and corrupt. Totally oblivious of their religious teachings not to lie, cheat and steal. How else do you explain the spate of Utusan lies found guilty by the courts ? How else you explain the leader of wanita Umno still defiant after her family had diverted millions in gomen funds into personal real estate holdings ?

Melayus who are enlightened join PAS, PKR, DAP. Melayus who dip their fingers in the country's treasury join Umno.

Proving that gomen is not corrupt because of a few judgements against Utusan, which is the mouthpiece of UMNO ? Utusan is owned by UMNO, and reports to the President of UMNO. It is the no. 1 racist paper and purveyor of lies, which the courts affirmed through their judgements. Melayu tak malu ke ? 6. As Malays in Malaysia are Muslims, to us nothing but Allah is the greatest, yang Maha Esa... so this is being deeply rooted in our hearts and mind.

The MatSalleh era, they label us such as lazy becos WE do not serve them well, in short, different from the coolies and labourers brought in by them from foreign lands who are mainly not Muslims. These immigrants had to jilat bon@@t MatSalleh till kingdom come for survival, being bullied and forced to be hardworking by their human "Masters".

No... we are not Lazy, my late grandpapa during the British era, not only worked the Paddy fields and owned a rice mill, he also managed acreas of family rubber plantation and had a small sundry shop in the kampung town. Who says we are lazy??? Even me and my kids, his cucu and cicit are now doing our own business in the city.

These decendants of immigrants are being brainwashed by the MatSalleh masters that Malays are lazy, infact malas nak layan kerenah mereka dulu...

Jangan sesekali ajar anak cucu kita bahawasanya Melayu dari kaum yang Malas, look around with open eyes, Apek, Aney ramai dari mereka kaki malas juga.

  10. Look at Najib. He offers goodies which in any other jurisdiction would be regarded as corruption. He waffles and spins. He tells the Chinese that he needs to win big, because if UMNO doesn't win big, then he is in trouble, and the other races won't like the alternative choice in UMNO. What does that mean ? Muhyiddin isn't a good choice ?

He tells everyone that Mamakthir is watching him ? Watching him or watching over him ? Is it because Mamakthir has a thick file on Najib when the latter was defence minister ? Who did Najib give the military lands in Majidee and Bukit Raja to ?

This is the type of leadership we should not tolerate. If you are a leader, you lead from the front, and you must be beyond reproach. This type of leadership should be treated with disdain - and it isn't a function of race or religion.

  11. There seems to be two key points in your article, BC, firstly that the Malay delegates were treated with contempt - honestly I don't know how good they are - may they deserved to be directly elected and maybe they didn't. As I mentioned before I do agree that a party that can't develop talent from across society has a very big problem.

Secondly, you commented on how they bash the government so much. I'm sure that you know that in a Westminster-style parliamentary system, the government does everything and the opposition "must" oppose everything. If the system works well, the criticism from the opposition makes the government of the day perform better, question itself more and design and implement policies that benefit the people and protect their rights. So you often hear politicians questioning the sanity and sensibility of their opponents in Parliament, but that doesn't stop these politicians from sitting down for a drink or meal together as friends after the debate has finished (at least in the UK - its Parliament has four bars).

What is more worrying in some of the comments today and yesterday. It suited the European colonialists to divide the people of a country, so they could play them off against one another and rule the place with the least amount of effort and cost. They highlighted (or made up) the whatever differences it took to divide and rule. But do Malaysians today still believe that? Do Malaysians really think that the biggest threat to their way of life is the guy at the end of the street?

The guys that will outcompete your business aren't in Johor or Penang, they are in Chennai, or Chengdu or Jakarta. The rest of the world sees you as Malaysians but time and again I see comments that Malaysians can't see themselves as this. It's a recipe for the rest of the world to take advantage of Malaysia. I know Chinese, Malays and Indians that don't fit any of the stereotypes so I'd rather treat people on their own merits. But what hope for Malaysia if Malaysians can't do this? Some clown yesterday was talking about another May 13 - err, try to think of your best friend from another race - and if you do, why would you ever want to even raise that as a possibility? Lastly, if you don't have any friends from another race, considering trying to make one or two, I've found it to be very rewarding.

According to international report on corruption ,Malaysia would had achieve a balance economic growth by now between the Malay and the non Malay especially the Chinese since NEP was introduce many years ago , with all the government help. Base on the report too ,that a balance growth was hindered due to common practice of corruption from the Chinese to get thing done their way though reasonable assistance are given to the Malay.
The Malay enterprise are just cannot compete because giving bribe is something they would not resort to ,part's from being against's their believe ,adding to their handicap that a Malay would not take bribe from another Malay.

Are you referring to the international report made by Shareezat, Mamakthir and Yakcop ? These are internationally renowned authors. However, I think you misread their conclusions. These authors concluded that the Malays have no intention to take bribes from the non-Malays. However, the Malays suffer from a "wide-jaw" syndrome which makes them open their mouths wide every time they see money, and they just swallow whatever that is stuffed into their mouths by the non-Malays.

Now Najib is trying very hard to find a cure for the "wide-jaw" syndrome. Word is that his wife is also afflicted so there is extra incentive for him to find a cure.
